IT's gotta be trying to take away the leverage that teams have, because they know we have to cut players at some point. At least it looks like Nichols won't be one of those players.

I would think JJ1 is out, but man, if Curry went down, wouldn't he be the starting center, or would we just go small?

Zach can man the center position in the east (and probably better than anyone else on our roster actually). JJ1 is useless and should have been waived a long time ago.

Its stupid. We need to shed the fat from our roster. If the Knicks had open spots instead of dead weight you know he'd be getting a guaranteed deal based on how well he played in summer league.

If Nichols is free to walk after this year because of the dead weight on the roster prevents them from securing his rights for a few years then Isiah is even dumber and an even worse GM than I thought.

That's not to say that Nichols is great or even good but whats the point in keeping that garbage on the roster?

FROM ALAN HAHN (NEWSDAY BLOG ON 9/3):
*Some of you have suggested that Demetris Nichols has already signed a contract. From what I'm told, there has yet to be an official contract signed as of today. There's still plenty of time between now and camp (first practice is Oct. 2 in Charleson), but it's odd why the Knicks won't just ink this kid. Leaving him flapping like this is bad karma.

This makes the most sense.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

We still have to cut players and risking losing Nichols after next year isn't exactly taking away leverage.

I would rather see Nichols on the roster and bomb than see JJ play another minute in a NY uniform. That's right, I said it!!!

The important thing is that Nichols is a Knick and he'll be a good compliment to the players we already have. I feel good about this Knicks team. They are a championship team. They'd have won it all last year, if they'd just won a few more games, made it to the playoffs, made to the finals, and defeated the Spurs.
https:// It's not so hard.

I agree with the sentence regardless of which JJ you were referring to!
