In the first pic it looks like Jeff is working on his free throws, something he definitely needs to improve.

What's My Motivation?

I wonder if President and Head Coach Isiah Thomas had any choice words of "encouragement" to Jeffries during exit interviews.

The skill forward position should be fun to watch. I hope Jeffries keeps the beard.

If it was good enough for Bill freakin' Walton...

Yes, TrueBlue, the irritation continues.

You know, my 10 year old cousin prides himself on being irritating too. (sorry, myth, but he is actually 10 years old).

Tech-Savvy sprite that he is, the other day he programmed the meeting reminder alarm on my phone to go off at 4 in the morning. Outdoes you, Blue, in both effectiveness and creativity.

When someone drops Justin Timberlake on you, it's the end of the conversation. There is no comeback.

Reinvent

Ira - I don't think Jeffries has the scintillating skill-set that makes your jaw drop, but if he has re-dedicated himslf to his craft, then who are we to deny his hard work?

There have been players who have worked with less physical presence, and definately fewer gifts, than Jared. It's good to see him in a gym sweating.

If you don't work, you don't play for Bobby Knight

All I want Jeffries to do is keep his butt on the bench and do a great job clapping while Balkman is playing.

He's not that bad we shouldn't have signed him. If his off-season work ethic results in improved play, he might be easier to trade.

I really don't think he is that bad but I think Balkman can be better. Right now it just depends on who can hit the outside shot and who can not.

I love these articles. Every year we get these stories about how this guy is working harder than ever. And that guy is in the best shape of their lives. One day, hopefully they will all be true.
I just hope that people will like me

Sing A Simple Song

BigC - why does it need to be an either/or situation?

Jeffries and Balkman TOGETHER provide a platoon at skill forward while Wilson Chandler puts the finishing touches on his mayoral campaign strategy for 2009. Balkman may be the trendy choice, he is not quite ready to be the starter at the beginning of his sophomore season unless he has developed a 12-15 foot jumper since Las Vegas. With all eyes on Curry and Randolph, Jeffries should have extra space to get to the rack on both ends.

If either of them falter, Chandler picks up the spare cameo minutes.

All I wanna know is - who has Paul Pierce?

Why does it have to be one or the other? I feel that there will not be enough minutes to go around for the two of them. If Jeffries can show that he can hit the outside shot I feel Isiah will give him the nod over Balkman.

Also how would you share the minutes in the frontcourt?

Q. djsu - earl, you saw q in summer league - how overweight was he?

A. Dangerfield: Oh man, was he overweight, I wanna tell you... he was so fat that when hs he went to the movies he sat next to everyone...(actually dj, Q wasn't in the gym the night I went.. but Malik Rose looked happy)

Q. dj. - do you even see him giving us 50 games this year?

A. Nope

I'll wouldn't be surprised if Q shut it down before the final pre season game.

It's going to be jeffries and balkman at the 3...Q is a fantasy, if he plays the season as a starter at SF, we're in the playoffs by sheer virtue of the gods shining on that achievement.

With this year's rookie crop, his outside shooting has been compensated for going forward.

I think jeffries will be starting for the sheer fact that he can and has covered the leagues best 3's.

Q will be involved, but I just don't see him lasting.

Balkman in his sophmore year, summer league one thing, I'm pretty sure Jeffries could dominate that as well...

I love balk, but I'd like to see them take their time with him.

The tasmanian devil baby. (spelling)
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

"I feel that there will not be enough minutes to go around for the two of them."

BigC - don't be silly. There are 48 minutes per night for the position... Balkman averaged 15 minutes per game last season so an upgrade to 18-20 minutes would be a reward for his progress. Jeff is versatile enough to play some four. 28-30 minutes avg per might work just fine.

Given the inevitable injuries and unexpected twists and turns of the season trust me, there will be enough minutes to go around - for the guys who earn them.

Enjoy The Ride

do you think isiah views this spot as the weak link and considering q's health, is anxious to make that artest move? or will isiah be patient and let it play out this season, at least until the trade deadline?
