if i were an aging past his prime superstar & never won a title, i'd probably do the same thing... nothing wrong w/wanting to complete ur career & have the experience of playing on a champion.

He's a hypocrite and Donnie Walsh has already started in on calling him out!

Indianapolis Star -
Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh was caught off-guard by the report that Reggie Miller is considering signing with the Celtics.

"I'm surprised he didn't call us first; this is the first I've heard of it," Walsh said.

Now does Reggie have the right to sign with them of course he does, but he needs to acknowledge what he said 4yrs ago.

Why not to start senior league assembled from retired NBA players?

Actually, I like this idea. Much better than having the old dudes coming back with their walkers and trying to compete with 25 year olds.

Malone was joining the Lakes AFTER they won 3 straight rings.

Celts have not won in 21 years.

I don't consider Reggie riding the coattails of B!tch Paul Pierce and RayNett. Had he joined the Spurs AFTER the fact, then it would be so.

Its weird, I find I like Reggie better in his retirement than when he played. Not detached, I have great respect for what he did to us and how good his career was given his freaky build.

At first glance I thought it would make me hate the Celts even more, but really I hope he would do well.

I think he will enjoy the attention but take a pass on the invite.

I wholeheartedly disagree

Sorry Reggie is a flat out hypocrite on this one if he signs.

Matter of fact the main reason he re-signed with the Pacers, they offered him a couple more mil than what other team?

That's right, the New Jersey Nets who had just came off a Finals appearance. That's the only other team he truly considered signing with at the time.

Here's another stab at him.

The Lakers didn't make it to the Finals in 2003. They didn't even make it to the Western Conference Finals then. They got beat by the Spurs 4-2 in the Conference Semi's. The Spurs won the championship that yr and Malone & Payton signed with the Lakers the following season. Like Herman Edwards said "You Play The Game To Win".

I get a kick out of fans who think they have even a remote argument stating "Well the Lakers were recent 3 time champions. So What! They didn't win in 2003, therefore see Herman Edward's quote again. What's the time frame or rule on such decision? Should Malone have signed a 1 yr deal with Dallas or New Jersey to give the Lakers a 2yr window of no Championship?

Guess what other teams pushed for Malone really hard? San Antonio(champions) he didn't hitch to them, The Mavericks(contenders) he didn't sign with them, New Jersey(2 Finals appearances) he didn't sign there either.

What team should Payton have signed with to help them win a title? He was still starter material then and all the other contending teams had better starting caliber point guards. New Jersey Nope Kidd, Pistons Nope Billups, Pacers maybe Tinsley, Philly Nope A.I., Hornets Nope Baron Davis, Minnesota Maybe Hudson, San Antonio Nope Parker, Sacramento Nope Bibby, Dallas Nope Nash, Lakers Yep Fisher. So the way I see of the Top 5 seeds in both conferences in 2003 Payton could have replaced Hudson, Tinsley and Fisher. Now of those 3 teams which of those pursued Payton?

Reggie Miller "Garbage Disposal Grill" should have STFU back then because now he's in a similar situation. If he signs here he's a

HYPOCRITE ALL DAY EVERYDAY!
