17 miles over the speed limit is nothing.

On any major highway the left lanes goes 20+ over the speed limit as a rule.

Big deal, he will go to court, plead guilty, pay a fine and will the points taken away.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

"Police say Morris took a wide turn onto New Circle Road, just a few miles from the University of Kentucky campus where he played his college basketball. The officer reported Morris accelerated to 62 mph — 17 mph over the speed limit — and didn't use a turn signal as he sped down the exit ramp."

That means the speed limit on the road he was on is 45 mph. He was going 62. If you told me he was doing 50 and the cop pulled him over, I'd say the cop was being a hard ass, but this seems like a legitimate case of speeding to me. It was also late at night when visibility is low, which should be a consideration.

That being said, I don't think we should hold it against him. I think he should still be allowed to play in the NBA, and I don't think he should be locked up for 20 years, but I hope he'll be more careful next time.

BTW, I'm glad it was a "wreckless" drive.

Wow, a whole thread for this? I heard Mardy gave someone who cut him in line at the supermarket a dirty look. Discuss.

From Alan Hahn's Blog:

http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/blog/2007/08/randolph_not_zach_cited_for_re.html

According to the arrest report, which was obtained by AP, Morris smelled heavily of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. He acknowledged he had been drinking 30 minutes earlier and was given a preliminary breath test at the scene, with his blood alcohol level showing .069, below Kentucky's legal limit of .08.

I was driving 115 per on NJ turnpike on my Suzuki XL7 and cop pull me over
Actually it was 50 over 65 limit.
And he said:
"Man - what was your speed?"
And I sad - "About 110 perhaps. Sorry man"
He sad "It's a lot - you are in trouble. Let’s put it the way you "Not obeyed NJ traffic signs"
I sad "Thanks man..." and get 2 pointes, now waived after a year
It is nice to be white polite person wearing business suite and big company batch in NJ...

Knicks' Randolph Morris charged with eating humans

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — New York Knicks player Randolph Morris was arrested in Lexington early Tuesday and charged with cannabalism.

Morris, a former center for Kentucky, signed with the Knicks in March, just days after playing for Kentucky in the NCAA tournament.

He was arrested by Lexington police at 3:10 a.m. ET, after District Court Deputy Clerk Glenda Walls discovered remains of Bison Dele in Morris' refridgerator in his Lexington home. He was released on a $100 bond, but had a court appearance scheduled Tuesday afternoon, she said.

The 6-foot-11, 260-pound Morris declared for the 2005 draft but was not chosen. That meant when he returned to Kentucky he was a free agent.
