I think we should wait till the offseason's over before we make our official record predictions. There's at least and probably several moves yet to be made.

Otherwise, we'll have to cut two more of our "assets"

You never know who we're cutting...if we cut James and Jeffries it'll be good for us and I might think we could get more wins. If we cut Nichols and another young player it might not have any impact or might make things worse. We could make a trade for Artest that would help us win more (regardless of whether it make sense for long term), or we could make another crappy trade.

That's fine. Make an unofficial one here. If no more trades were possible, where do you think the Knicks are?

Assuming we take away the least impactful players on roster to get under the limit, my guess right now is 40-42 (with a +/- 3 tolerance in there). I think if we make a move for Artest, regardless of how much the deal makes sense for the long term and whether I like it or not, it'll have enough of an impact to make us a more definite playoff team or around a 45 win team in my eyes.

Of course the funny part of this, if Zach Randolph has another mental incident, the Knicks win 25 games.

But, hey, I'm being optimistic.

My pre-Zach prediction was 39 wins. Zach over Frye is a considerable upgrade, so that's what brought me to 43.

You have to take this with a grain of salt, they didn't say the greatest things about the Celts or O-town either
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

whoa whoa whoa, I said 37-39 wins.

In no way do I think this team is capable of 6 games over .500.

Oh, you're doing it by record? My bad.

ok, I can live with a 38-44 record.

If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

That's because the Lovers predictions are amazingly similar to the supposed "Haters" predictions.

40-42 if we are lucky

33 again if we are making excuses -- like we alaways do

I'm going with 43-39 with our current roster. Of course my prediction is at the mercy of the criminal courts, the fast food moguls, the fans, and the refs. But "if everything goes right" I think 43-39 is realistic.

The thing that I feel is missed with adding Zach is that the PF guarding him can't take it easy like he could last year. Now he's gonna have to work hard and stay out of foul trouble having to guard Zach. Zach already faced the best PF's in the league out west and with very little help and he wasn't fouling out of games. Zach is a PLUS player. We didn't have that last year and I was just watching tapes of last season and it was pretty weird when Curry wasn't in the game. We had no real focus to the offense. Now we will have a focus and he's an extremely capable player at that.

While it's true we won't likely be a great defensive team, neither is Wash. and people give them all sorts of credit. No one seems to mind that they're primarily an offensive team. The Knicks will be similar but with a better defense. I'm more concerned with our Point Differential. With the slight changes we've made so far I'm expecting a more efficient offense over 48 mins. We were very up and down in games and I'm expecting that we'll be much more consistent from qtr to qtr. With Zach getting major minutes and being able to play with Lee and Balkman there to clean up the offensive boards and slash to the basket. Jamal and Nate being able to take advantage of the attention Zach will draw. They haven't had that when they've been out there with the 2nd unit. Now they will.

46-36 is what i'm guessing at this point.

There's still the issue of what he's gonna do to clean up the roster, so this is an early guess and not my final one.

Any of you guys ever notice that we are always "missing stuff". Good thing we have someone to point it out.
