Probly sounds a tad dramatic, but I'm serious.

It's been almost 4 years.

Excuses, spin jobs, empty promises, harassment lawsuits, and a 118-182 record.

And now the KG dream is *officially* over.

As far as I'm concerned, it's Kobe or Die.

Either Isiah steals him away from the Lakers, or we kick his incompetent ass to the curb by this time next year.

Nothing short of a superstar will bring respectability back to the Garden, and if Isiah is good at anything, it's reaching out to other teams' players.

Next summer we WILL have the assets to offer LA -- a huge Marbury expiring, young talent, and draft picks. (assuming the Garnett trade has set the bar).

In 2008 we can offer:

Kobe
Fisher/Radman

for

Marbury
Lee
Balkman
Collins/Nate
and 2 1st rounders

We'll HAVE the pieces.

Anything short of Kobe (or any superstar for that matter) next season and I'm off the bandwagon till I see this franchise is actually serious about winning...

I am NOT interested in "seeing what this team can do", b/c unlike homers, I can already see the writing on the wall.

if your talking about next year's expiring's, and picks, than i guess you have no choice.
best thing to do is wait and see what this team can really do. w/the zack trade, everyone healthy, and nate seems to have his head on straight by the way he's acting AND the way he played in sl. we may need just a tweeking of the roster. or we may need a complete overhaul.

i've said it before, if we get etan thomas we're competitive in the east. a minor tweek like this is all a team could need. we already got a couple of shooters from the 3 position, we have good perimiter 'd', and we got offense coming from all angles. all we need is a little help in the interior defensively. i want to see teams double and triple team eddy now!

Is it me or is this entire board hugely over rating David Lee?
David Lee is no Shawn Marion, he will be lucky to become that good of a scorer, in the east no less. Marion has freakish athleticism, and crazy 2nd jump, a 3 pointer, slashing game, and finishes anything close to the rim.

David lee is a slightly above average athelete, great rebounder, has shown flashes of a decent 15 footer, passes well. He has a long way to go to become Shawn marion.

I think any Shawn Marion comparison comes more from an underrating of Shawn Marion. Marion is one of the best players in the NBA, but a lot of people just don't notice him on that Phoenix team, as Marion has always played with great players who will probably be HOFers before it's all said and done (Jason Kidd, Amare Stoudamire, Steve Nash).

As far as David Lee, I think he was our best and most consistent player last season. Surely, we've longed for a gritty athletic guy who could rebound like crazy. We haven't had that since Camby, although I think it's pretty clear that Camby is a better player than Lee. I do think Lee is pretty balanced, and he excels very highly in a few areas. Is he a star? Doubtful. He's a very good supporting player, though. As the second or third best player on the team, I think you've got something pretty good in David Lee. Add David Lee to the Cavs over Drew Gooden, and I think they win a few against the Spurs in the finals. The reality is Lee is good, but as I've mentioned, he's not a #1 stud, franchise type player. So, if you can get a player like that and it involves trading Lee, you have to do it. I like David Lee, but sorry, a stud is a bigger need than Lee.
