Only on a Knick message board would there be a thread even comparing these two teams.

There is only one ball I love that, like we are talking about spree, houston, glen rice or crawford, francis, and marbury....

They average 12ass between the three of them and all are very good passers. KG was getting 4ass in minny they have no shooters on the floor. Look for him to average 5.5 ass this year, also dishes more assists than jamal crawford for their career at the pf slot.

They have a pass first pg, they are going to adjust very easily, because they have no egos they want to win and two of them want a fresh start. They are also humble a big difference between the players that isiah brings in, and they also have accomplished things on the basketball court

yea, I mean why compare the knicks to this great team. Ray allen is comming off surgery to both ankles, Pierce missed most of last season and Garnett is passing his prime, actually all 3 guys are nearing the end of their primes, there is a reason why KG was obtainable, one of the best players to play this game, there is a reason why ray allen was had for just the 5th pick in the draft. At least they will make the east interesting to watch, this is a bigger win for the NBA, moreso than for boston fans, this celtics team has no depth and 3 passing their prime stars. It is fair to woneder if all 3 will work, how injuries will play a key, I mean ray allen is playing on repaired ankles, and before that was never a good defender, neither was pierce, but hey, how dare we compare our knicks to such a juggernaut..... How dare knicks fans...

Don't be such a drama queen. "How dare..." whatever.
By the way, you ask how these guys were acquired? KG was traded for 4 good young players (one of whom is a stud) + picks.
By that logic what was Zach acquired for? A lottery bust and a maxed out contract that
was promptly bought out? Did you really want to open that can of worms?

tkf wouldn't be saying this if those guys were in Knick uniform. Seriously no need to shame oneself with irrational logic.

Honestly, the guys who are trashing the Celtics out of pure jealousy should be labeled "haters". The logic being used is ridiculous and borders on being psychotic.

If there was a reason why KG was obtainable, then why couldn't Isiah get a trade done when he supposedly has all these great young players?

Why is it that only the Celtics health concerns matter when the Knicks had their share of injuries last year? Marbury has missed a bunch of games the last few years and is way past his prime. Crawford, Lee, Q and JJ2 missed a good part of last year injured. Zach has had microfracture surgery and Curry has had heart problems. But you fail to mention any of that when bringing up the Celts potential injury problems. How dare you attempt to mislead us Knicks fans.

And to top it off as injury riddled the Celtics were last yr(and early not late like us) they kicked our AZZZZZZZZZ 3 of 4 times and blew us out in 2 of the 4 meetings for like 3 qrts. The final scores weren't indicative how the games went. LOL!

The Celts are at least a 45 win team right now.

Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Perkins in the middle. The bench is weak, but the Celts still have the MLE, the LLE, and really only need 2 or 3 solid bench players.

They go out and use their money wisely sign guys like Brevin Knight(still out there), PJ Brown, Derek Anderson...solid veterans who don't cost much-which is VERY possible, Boston can beeven more of a favorite to come out of the East.

I don't buy the hype, didn't buy it when the Sixers got Webber either. You can't toss trash on the floor at the 1 and 4 spots let alone the bench and expect to be serious contenders. All the teams that have been in it for the title in the past few years have had future stars (Barbosa, Harris) or former stars (Finley, Stackhouse) coming off of the bench.

Who did the Cavs have at the 1 and 4 spots? Hell, who did they have at the 2 and 5 while you're at it. And who were the future or former stars coming off their bench?

I woudn't include the Cavs in the "serious contender" category. They got smoked in 4 games and you could see it coming.

that drama queen line is tired. try a new one.... But what you are telling me by bringing up zach is that the celtics move was bad, just not as bad as the knicks move?

Whatever, this whole board is messed up. Its like a contest to see who can bash the team the hardest that we're supposedly rooting for.

The Knicks as currently constructed will win more games than the Celts as currently constructed. Our bench is far superior and we don't have starting players that you can double off of to help on Curry or Zach.

Webber is a valid comparison, only in that people panicked when the Sixers dealt for him. We saw later that he was washed up, but really he just didn't want to play hard for a crap team. Pull up the news stories from that day, people were saying the Sixers would make a run into the playoffs with C-Webb.

Keep sulking and bashing your own team if it makes you all feel better. Truth is that we're 10-15 games better than last year, and that will be more wins than the C's get.

Just like a young man who gets dissapointed time after time by women he dates , so are knicks fans who are in denial about rooting for the team whether they (when or lose).

Nobody wants to be hurt again after putting so much faith and belief and effort in someting they love.

So they put the team down until they find that feelings are mutual
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'm telling you man, life is so much easier in the off season when you read post from a select few members. I know its hard to do but this Knick forum is fun when you ignore people. I wish there was a way you could restrict people to certain threads. You will get an accurate read of the silent yet optimistic majority.

Webber is a terribly crappy comparison. Panic? Over Webber? Give me a break. You're ridiculous. The guy was coming off microfracture surgery and couldn't move well on defense anymore, so was a huge defensive liability. That's why Sacramento traded him. This was known almost league-wide. The only people who didn't see it are the fans who don't pay attention to defense... ah ha! Now we get to the root of the problem.

Your version of history is very strange. Some people thought the Sixers would slip into the playoffs. That = panic??? You're stretching terribly here.

Look up what the reaction was to the Webber trade was instead of spouting nonsense.

All I know is a group of posters on this board are panicing over the trade, and in response, have been knocking EVERY ELEMENT on the trade... when the Celtics just made a sick trade! There's something wrong with that. You can hate the Celtics, and by all means, most of us probably do.... but, the arguments that are being used are embarassing.

I tell you what, since it's your claim, why don't YOU look it up and post it here. Then, why don't you tell us how Chris Webber, who was well known as a defensive liability after the surgery is equivalent to Kevin Garnett? When you can post these two pieces of made up information, then we can have a discussion.

Also, just so you don't make this mistake, your source cannot come from myspace.com or your own personal blog.
