Knight is definitely the better overall player. He is a pure PG and solid defender despite his small size. Smush can shoot 3s better, but other than that, I would not say he can clearly do anything else better than Knight (other than maybe dunking due to his size and athleticism). Either way though, Parker is an upgrade over nothing, which is what Miami would have with a broken down Jason Williams and no other backup.

Smush will fit cuz he won't be in the triangle. Phil has no post presence so the triangle isn't effective. With no post player the rest of the guys have yo be on point. Its a boring way yo play in my opinion especially with a chucker like kobe.

Wade chucks too buy not to the extent of a kobe. Parker essentially is wade lite. Hes not a point and he isn't a true sg. They should work out fine.

Parker is a nyc guy so I can't get too annoyed by this move.

If I was Miami I would have went after a jumpshooting point guard. Who gives a **** about Miami anyway? The knicks will destroy them cuz they can't guard our 5 best guys at the same time.

Go knicks!

Wow. Big Brevin Knight fans - must be Stanford fans. :)

Smush is younger and far more athletic, and skillwise, he can shoot from outside and finish in the lane. Miami needed a big defender at the PG position to help Wade out a bit (Wade's relatively small for a SG) and an outside shooter who could help spread the floor (Wade's does most of his damage inside the arc). On top of that, the Heat need someone who's going to stay healthy. They can't just think that Jason Williams will play 41 games, Knight will play 41 games, and all will be well. They want someone who'll be there every game. Smush has been much more durable than the overall brittle Knight.

He's not nearly the creator Knight is, but between the two of them, Smush's a better fit for Miami and most playoff-level teams. (Knight could be a great fit for Memphis in mentoring another young PG in Conley)
