Damn. He can be strange at times, and I dont consider him a Rhodes scholar, but this is ridiculous. I often wonder why athletes would ever want to play for NY.

I dont get why Marbury has become such a polarizing obsession, to the point where some around here feel obligated to HATE him. I feel his career has been a disappointment, and I have felt somewhat let down, but the lengths in which some go to in order to assail his character is just as offensive as the man himself could ever be.

I don't hate Marbury. He's just an idiot and he shouldn't be a Knick. This team wasn't good before Marbury got here, but it's miraculously gotten worse (no coincidence) and add to it that we always had a positive team of hardworking guys when Layden was here -- even if they not winning. Now, the Marbury era starts, Marbury inflicts his cancer on the team, and we have a group of lazy guys who get patted on the back for success, when the rest of the world clearly sees they failed. He conflicts with an embarassing amount of teammates, past, present and future. He gets guys traded. He gets coaches fired, because of his inability to try to work with them. He pouts on the court. He pouts off the court. He puts towels on his head out of anger. He makes daily stupid comments to the media that you'd have to be a complete moron not to know are the wrong thing to say. Finally, he makes it clear that basketball doesn't matter to him, so why play? He's honestly an embarassment to the sport and the word 'professional'.

Honestly, he reminds me of Odie. About the same IQ level, although I'd give the edge to Odie.

Its not about not wanting to hear negativity about Marbury....I was simply challenging what you said above. That statement makes it seem as though the interest in Marb is genuine from a Kncks fan perspective and you and I know that aint the case. There are people here who search high and low for any related Marb articles, interviews, etc just to try and trash him or spin it into something negative. If a Knicks fan objective is to trash everything Marb, thats thier perogative, but dont make it seem like these same Knick fans are interested in Marb (or this interview with Gus) as a fan of his, because that certainly aint the case. They will watch only to see some sort of weird behavior, watch him botch the english langauge, or say something outlandish so they can post it here tom, and trash him some more.

Can you please explain to me the difference between a poster who you claim only digs up trash on Marbs vs. a poster who artificially finds only positive things about Marbs when the negatives CLEARLY outweigh the positives for this LOSER? I just don't see it.

As for what I said, Marbury is an interesting topic because he's a Knick, and because he was supposed to be the savior and our team has been CRAP since he's been here. So, is it criticism? Yes. Is it fair and justified criticism? Honestly, yes. Objective is that a lot of GMs would've waived Marbury already for his negative attitude. Unfortunately, we have tweedle-dee the wonder bunny who is love with Marbury, since he reminds him of a retarded version of himself. Whatever. The point is that some people find Marbury to be disgusting and a disgrace. He was given more than a fair chance. If he wants to get the fans back... all he has to do is apologize publically, stop holding interviews that make him sound like he's on crack, think twice before he speaks, and start, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS GODDAMNED CAREER, playing team ball. That's all. If he does that, I will take back anything bad I ever said about him. Until that day, he disgusts me and I hate that he's on my team.

And no, we're not Marbury fans, we're Knicks fans.

No problem. We all get a little touchy. I usually don't mean to offend people, but I do tend to come on strong with my words, which is funny, because most of the time I'm just sitting here, relaxed or doing something else at the same time (like programming). So, I apologize in advance for the next time my connotation comes out a little strong. But definitely, I think some of the debates have gotten tired, and the forum has an overall aura of negativity... which comes from all this losing. If Marbury starts acting like a winner and playing like a winner, he will have my full support.
