BTW, a vet = someone who has played for at least 2 seasons, so for all we know, it could be David Lee.

Naaaaaaaaaawwwwwww it's a seasoned vet. One who's been around the league knows the officials very well and a player who the officials would keep an eye on. David barely got any burn his rookie yr and probably doesn't even know half the refs in this league still. It's an offensive minded veteran player who has a Dinosaur size brain.

plus, white guys don't use the word "ain't". only people from the hood use that word.

it's one of the following: marbury, crawford, jeffries, quentin, malik, zach, eddy, jerome

if i had to guess, considering the guy is historically always in foul trouble, it might be jerome.

I too believe it could be Eddy "the tumbler" Curry. He doesn't really love the game of basketball and would love to expose the league and get some time off while the leagues goes thru changes.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I hear through a gravevine that it was Charlie Ward.

I actually think it was Allan Houston. This would explain why he never played D.

Yeah, but it makes more sense if it was Ward, b/c now we know why Ward was too scared to ever take it to the hole.

Yeah but Allan was convinced that some refs had it out for tissue soft players, and this affected his play.

Jerome wouldn't be it either, he gets DNP'd all the time. Jamal is too much of a gentleman and high character guy, it's not him. It could be Q but.......

If I was Tim Donaghy I'd place Smart Money on Curry or Marbury.

It has to be a player that's dumb enough to speak out on this in such a manner.

It's def a player who be dumb, and eddy dumb

He's been a target year after year and can't for the life of him figure out why if you turn and pile drive your man into the floor with your elbow they call a foul. When your an All-Star you have a target on your back and never get the benefit of the doubt.....

If it's Jerome, I think he should get minutes based on his quotability, work ethic and general knowledge of how to cash in on four games, we should all be so lucky i think we really sell the intelligence short of players on this team.

Marbury was a horrible teammate for most of his career and hated around the league and is now a pioneer in the shoe business, a modern day gandi....
Jerome James parlayed a playoff series into 30 million and retired
Isiah spent 200 million and lost another 100 and managed to get a contract extension behind the three worst season in nearly 20 years, because he smiles and laughs and convinced the public that curry really is an allstar.....

and yes, that was an intentional foul to illustrate a point about hurling personal insults at people based on ignorance and just being mean-spirited

what is the point in calling anyone dumb?

Eddy is on his 2nd honey moon, Marbury is doing his yellow submarine magical mystery tour, and jerome don't play.

My guess is either Craw or Malik. Malik gets called for a lot of fouls.

If the quotes are even accurate (who can trust the media nowadays) I'd say Qrich or Jeffries with a chance at Marbury since he just cant ever stay out of the media.
It does not sound like anything Craw, Malik, Balk, Curry, Lee, or Mardy would say. Nate might say it.

Crawford would never say that- he is also pretty well-spoken. As is Malik and Curry.

Typical New York Knicks lately.....

Start a brawl, and then defender yourself in the media and make an even bigger ass out of yourself, Nate

Get waxed and Chicago and try to start another fight because your unprofessional......

You play in a leauge that rewards self promoting dip ****s, your all overpaid you have been in the lottery for the past three season and your team sucks

You make a public comment that puts fuel on the fire when the league is at it's most vulnerable.....

But I guess it's sterns fault that he is the best commisioner in pro sports and tries to make a bunch of thugs around the leauge remove 100k chains, sunglasses and stupid hats and dress more professional like Jordan, Magic, Pippen, Clyde etc used to do. But I guess it's racist to preserve the integrity of the league and ensure fans keep coming and the game keeps growing and these babies get their millions and max deals, then whine after they sign them force buyouts because they try to sabatoge the organization, and generally dog it only to go to other teams and be inspired again......

I don't know if it's q, but I would be willing to bet it's Curry, who still thinks he got jobbed in the allstar voting, according to magic another idiot, as well as Marbury and the rest of his teammates that in typical fashion believe it's all about numbers.....

Excuses and lack of professionalism is all this team is about, make comments like a man or don't make them at all.
Its interesting that you make culturally specific accusations about things that are occuring league-wide, and NO ONE on this thread has challenged your assertions. Throwing out the names of some older black players doesn't make your assertions about today's hip hop influenced players any more valid. 100k chains and sunglasses and stupid hats, as you put it, doesn't make someone a thug. If its a style of dress that you dont find appealing, I'm fine with that, I also dislike much of it. But to characterize all players who dress that way, as thugs, is frankly, a racist assumption.

A thug is someone who engages in criminal behavior. And while the NBA has a few bad apples, it is a gross mischaracterization to make sweeping negative genralizations about its majority hip hop influenced black players; and lets be clear, with the culturally specific remarks you have made it is quite obvious you are talking about black players.

The NBA isn't a league of thugs, and there is very little illegal activity going on in general among NBA players, so it is striking that you would use such strong language and others would co-sign it and find no fault with it.

This thinking, that lumps one group of people into a box (a box marked criminal), based on their sunglasses, jewelry and stupid hats, is what leads to greater misunderstanding in our society. This type of thinking, often becomes part of the lazy logic of racism that puts my college-educated black life in danger, when the police shoot based on how people look, rather than on whether they are behaving illeagally.

Ironicly, this conversation is happening because an NBA referee, is alleged, to have participated in something illegal, in concert with our country's largest organized crime gang, but I guess because he's white and doesn't wear jewelry, sunglasses or stupid hats, he would never qualify for characterization as a thug.

Just some food for thought.

This is disturbing to me

"Many times I can predict what kind of night I’m going to have by who the refs are"

It's obviously David Lee!

It makes no difference in my mind what color the ref is, it's clear hes not a good guy his skin color has nothing to do with for me. Are there some people that would look down on him more if he was black, I think you can say yes on that because that's the way people are......

The NBA is hip hop and the lifestyle the music the clothes turns off the masses (i have zero problem with it), there is a high number of thuggish personalities in the nba, i am not generalizing here, it's a fact. I threw out some names because the nba used to be about hard work and professionalism. Todays NBA has slowly moved away from those characteristics. Bailing on your contract is pretty common, not honoring the contract you signed is happening more and more.

If players are dressing like thugs they are going to be view as such, the dress code is so loosly enforced to begin with and it's in line to protect the league, not to be racist. You can say I make generalization, but i don't see why so many people bring light to the issues about the NBA. I realize they are judged unfairly, because the NFL seems to be above the law for the most part......

I find it laughable when the league is 84% black and they say putting in an age limit is racist, who is it really hurting? No one, it actually improves the level of play in the league and preserves jobs for veterans. It also allows for a kid to grow and deal with a little freedom. A lot of the guys in the league live paycheck to paycheck and spend like someone is going to steal there money, so i don't see why everyone makes a big deal out of it, a good majority of these kids don't come from money and getting the $$$ right away is very dangerous......

My issues are making public comments on certain subjects, the dress code, the age limit, the timing of comments. Do I believe their are refs out there with personal bias, of course i do i am a knicks fan and i don't like how the officials have been protected and how players can't make comments after games when the refs likely cost them game.....

And I spun off topic, but i am so sick and tired of these Knicks, their ****ing excuses their lack of professionalism, there proclamations, and there losing. They are all so lucky, sometimes it's better to just shut the **** up and play ball.
