Fighting the Sixers, Celtics and Magic for the eight-seed.

You can keep on doubting the Knicks if you want, but you and several others are really underestimating this team. The Sixers are a nice young team, but they aren't ready for primetime just yet. Don't let that late season surge impress you. Teams were falling like flies last year and they just happened to play hard and win some games, but i don't think they can replicate that over an 82 game season.

Boston may just have a good year with what they've done. Pierce, Allen and big Al is a very nice trio. Health is their only issue and the lack of a strong D. The quality drops off a bit after the starters in terms of experience.

The Magic aren't bad either. Solid defensive team and now they added a scorer they needed bably. It's hard to really guage just how much Lewis will help them tho. I'd guess they'd be able to sustain good play for most of the season, unlike last year.

NJ is gonna be tough. They will be back at full strength and that's not good for the rest of the Div. The thing is that they won't have as many easy nights like they've had in the past and that will wear on them. VC and Kidd won't be able to sustain high levels all year and that will put the onus on their bench. They have a decent bench but we'll have to see how they do.

I think the Knicks are right there with all of these teams. So it's gonna be a dog fight.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The east is gonna be very compeditive this year. The east division alone is gonna be battle for the ages.

Clevland hasn't made any changes. Wanna bet the fall off like Miami did?

Orlando should be improved. They didn't look like the most talented team onpaper last year, but the fact that they made the playoffs tells how important chemistry is. Lewis gives them the perimeter threat to go with Howard in the interior.

I also think Charlotte will be much improved. Wallace and OK anchor the D, and J-Rich, Felt, Hermann and Morrison provide most of the O. There still young. They'll be improved but not sure if the improvement is enough to make the playoffs.

Boston, like us looks really good on the offensive end, but also like us, dont look so strong defensively.

Maybe Jersey, and Washington fall off next year. Its not going to be easy for us to jump these teams, but you gotta believe we can play a couple games over 500 with this team and get a 6 or 7 seed. Should be the next step at least.
