You know, I've been lurking for a bit and I just wanted to deviate from all the Z-Bo, Eddy, Steph Doing Interviews Blissed talk. I notice that Jamal's been swept under the rug for the most part lately. So I just have a simple question and that is -- how do we use him next season? Do you start him at the 2 like last season? Move him to the point and let Steph be the 2 and Q be the 3 (which puts Jeffries on the bench), do you bench him and have Q start at the 2? Trade him (his contract isn't THAT bad, IMO). I'm asking b/c I'm not even sure how we'd use him next season.
Start him @ 2
Start him @ 1

Isiah has already shown that he views Jamal as a bench player. If Q can play he's gonna start at the 2 and Jared will likely start at SF, unless Isiah makes a drastic change and goes with Balkman, which I don't see. To me it's clear that it's gonna be Steph, Q, Jared, Zach and Curry - Jamal, Lee, Balk etc. This is the big 8 in his rotation and then everyone else fits in where they can. The only thing that will keep us up around 9-10 man rotation is the health of Steph and Q. They may see their minutes cut and thus you'll see some more of Mardy and Nate. My gut tells me that we'll also see Nichols get some burn at some point. He's just too good of a shooter to not make use of him at some point. Even it it's only in limited action.

It may be your view that Jamal is a backup but I don't think Isiah feels that way nor Jamal's teammates. Let's see, Marbury cries when Jamal went down. Isiah is scream at the top of his lungs when Jamal went down. Yet when Q gets hurt Marbury will not even frown, or better yet cry. Also the way Q sounded in the interview he said the starters are Zach, Marbury,Jamal, and Curry. He will have to earn his starting role. Also the way Jamal played in January up until he got hurt was obvious that he is a starter for the Knicks. Now more than ever is the reason Jamal will start because he can make plays happen not only to Curry, but also to Zach.

When Jamal plays the 1 and Marbury plays the 2 there are only a few backcourt that they will get out played by.

Also do people really think Isiah is going to give Q the nod to start at the 2 guard when in the last 2 years that mission has failed with Q and Marbury in the backcourt?

Jamal is a playmaker there is no one else in the lineup that is a playmarker like him on our team.

In the perfect world Marbury needs to get traded and Jamal would be a 6th man. However this is the New York Knicks.
