jerome and jeffries have no right being on this team, james especially. he is perenially out of shape, brings little to the table, and with morris now, he should be cut. there is no doubt about this. a buyout around $14 mil (there is $17 mil left on the deal now) works for everyone, james certainly isn't going to get that much again.

jeffries is expendable now as well, especially with balkman, nichols, and chandler all doing what he does at 1/6th of the price each.

it would be absurd and downright embarassing for the knicks to not make room for nichols, who has looked extremely promising, to keep big snacks or the coward on the team.

If I'm Nichols I'm not signing in Europe for a year. If its Europe then Nichols has to get a long term deal for security reasons. Fuck the knicks. If it were me? Sign me and if you can't and you have my rights so I can't sign elsewhere? Fuck it. I would play for a Europe team for 4 years and make my money. If I get hurt at least I would have money coming to me.

Isiah is not gonna let that happen. I think he will do something. He could trade Nate for a future 1st rounder and just waive Jerome. We'll see.

I think its a big IF, but if he plays in Europe I'm sure Nichols will sign for multiple years and there will be a standard NBA buyout if the Knciks want him. Win win.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

This is why you don't fill up your roster with crappy Jerome James and Jared Jeffries.

I agree 100% Vdes, I made this point the other day. I forget who it was but they were saying that the MLE signings haven't come back to hurt us that bad, they only cost Dolan. Well that's not true, we've cut guys like Matt Carroll becuase of not having roster spots open and they were being taken up by guys like Jerome James, Vin Baker and Jared Jeffries. I desperately do not want to see Nichols a casualty because of this.

How many years ago was Carrol already? Was he even here for JJ1, or just Baker?

Agreed, why would Nichols be willing to give up one year of NBA service that goes toward free agency and his NBA pension and everything else that he's entitled to just to help the Knicks out of their roster problems?

Because they told him to............. he's a second round pick, not a top ten pick.

Unless Nichols signs with a pretty bad European team, he is probably not going to play a lot of minutes unless he accepts that he is there to get tittles and not to have a great individual performances. He looks smart enough to do so, but I have seen Charles Smith being the best scorer in the Europeleague in a very powerful team and then not getting any playing time in Portland the following year. I would like him to play in Spain to watch him personally but Im not sure it is gonna help him a lot at this point of his career. It may turn out good for him, but I think he must do whatever it takes to be in our roster and I really think he can be very useful for us. Lets hope Isiah cleans the roster a bit in the next days to make room for him.

After last night, I will say it again. If Nichols doesn't make this roster, I'm going to be extremely pissed...

the problem is you can only put 5 on the court- and we can't put 5 on the court that are better than our opponents five.

They don't have too many good players. They just have too many players.

I like Nichols but we're talking about role players and benchwarmers who won't see regular minutes once the regular season starts.

I would rather he played in Europe, or the D-League and had 30 min a game than sit on the bench as the 15th guy and only get practice time. I think he has a future with the team, but this year he will get zero minutes. Well, unless Jamal, Q-Rich and some others get injured.

But still, Europe or D-League is a better move for him.

Maybe Nichols can meet up with QWoods who can teach him about dog fighting.
