Bobby - i feel you.

as people were getting misty about him being courted by other teams...

what about Herb Williams?

personally, I'd take a long hard look at Mark Jackson. yeah, yeah... no experience... no credentials... but there is something I like about his New Yorker's demeanor that speaks to his potential to take control and make a decisive point.

Young enough to related to yoots and experienced enough to go old school

Panos - I feel your pain regarding the outside shooting thing.

I hope David Lee is taking 2500 baseline jumpers a day.

Here's hoping Nichols can be groomed in the time-honored 3-point tradition of John Starks

Think of it this way. Malik Rose can be an assistant coach

Panos - cool, if you swap Balkman for Jeffries, how do you feel about that rotation?

I feel much better about it. But still think we will be weak shooting the rock.
Jamal is the only one (given your assumption of Marbs and Q out), and not consistent.
With regards to JJ2, I don't ever need to see him on the floor as a Knick again.

Personally, I value JJ1 more than JJ2. At least JJ1 can come in and block a shot and intimidate.
JJ2 is worthless to me.

I actually think Steph will have it much easier than he's ever had it in terms of having to exert himself. He's not gonna have to do that much on Offense. He can concentrate of defending better and passing. He'll still penetrate when it's open, but he'll slow down his own offense from here on and that should preserve him.

Q is a big ? cuz who can know with a back issue, but from everything i've read he shouldn't have the pain anymore. The operation was always an optin for him but with his condition rest and therapy was the number 1 recommended option and only if it didn't get better on it's own was surgery to be considered. That being said, the operation has a high rate of success with low incidence of recurring problems. Part of the reason is that the source of the pain is removed. The bits of bone and protruding disk which is causing the nerves to be agitated.

-----------------

NEW YORK, March 30, 2007 – The New York Knickerbockers announced today that guard/forward Quentin Richardson underwent successful back surgery yesterday.
Richardson, 6-6, 235-pounds, had appeared in 49 games this season – starting 47 – to average 13.0 points and 7.2 rebounds in 33.1 minutes.

After the most recent MRI and CAT scan, team doctors collaborated with neurosurgeon, Dr. Barth Green in Miami, FL. The surgery was performed by Dr. Green at UM-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Dr. Green is a professor and chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami and co-founder of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, the largest spinal cord injury research center in the world.

"Quentin had a successful microdiskectomy and is expected to resume a normal NBA career," Dr. Green said.

---------------

4. WHAT IS THE CHANCE OF A SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME?

A microdiskectomy is 85%-95% successful in relieving pain in the buttocks and leg. Pain relief is typically quite rapid, although in specific instances, it may take six to eight weeks for the nerve to calm down. If a nerve has been pinched for a long time, the success rate is rarely 100% as there is usually some residual mild tingling, weakness, or pain, all of which are fairly tolerable.

5. WHAT ARE THE LIMITATIONS OF THE PROCEDURE?

Surgery is intended only to remove pressure from a pinched nerve. When a disk ruptures, a hole is created in the outer ring of the disk. During surgery, the surgeon will enlarge this hole to remove any loose material; however, there is no way to repair the hole. Even though surgery is quite effective in getting rid of buttock and leg pain, you are still left with a disk that will usually heal but takes time to do so. Care has to be taken to prevent undue stress to the disk during this healing period to prevent a re-herniation.
--------------

Now none of this guarantees anything, but we just might see him able to play painfree for the 1st time since he's been a Knick. Last year he looked pretty good up until he tweaked the back again. I'm hoping he will fully heal and be able to play a full season. If not at least we have some other SF options, even if they're young or not on his level.

herb williams should've never left...which may prove awkward a second time

mark would be a great fit.....i'm in that ny kind of mind too, my second choice.

zeke has now assembled a frontcourt deserving expert treatment and makers of big men......john thompson please!

the last thing i want to hear is these players are not phil jackson type players

Personally, I think Zeke has to stick this one out. He still hasn't proven that this roster can work,
and he doesn't deserve to hire any more scapegoats. Make it work, Zeke, or go.

Bobby - Herb didn't go anywhere

he accepted the gig on an interim basis and returned to lieutenant status when Dolan tabbed Thomas

with that said, I still say Mark Jackson would be entertaining and a winner in two years with this roster

i have no doubt former employee number 13 would rise to the occasion

TMS - Jeffries started the season injured and never caught up, but c'mon, the idea here is to put aside the venom for just a moment and look at the (cough) "upside of the top 8 players in the 07-08 rotation. Please forgive my positive outlook and invasion into the territory of "all these guys simply suck"

see, this is why you carry no credibility on this forum whatsoever... you misrepresent & over-exaggerate my comments almost every time you respond... at no time did i ever make any mention of every player on this team "sucking"... i made corrections on your comments about 2 players that you were clearly overrating... then you take offense when someone challenges your point of view & make snide, ridiculous remarks that have no basis of truth whatsoever & basically insult the opinions of the poster commenting to your post... you're a troll in the worst sense of the word.

That is a Top10 post of all-time.

i think you're the last person on this forum to be lecturing people about having anything of substance to contribute to any discussion... he's 1 of the better posters on this board, which is more than i can say for you.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
