just don't complain when guys are penetrating into the lane at will next season & guys are looking at each other with that deer in the headlights look on their faces because no one knows who's supposed to rotate over to cover on help D... but then, you're probably used to that by now & you never complain about anything because Isiah can never do any wrong in your eyes to begin with.
If we have good perimeter defense then we can prevent penetrations

Randolph is versatile. You guys make it seem like he lives 5 feet and in, when in reality he can score of the dribble from 18 feet in. I don't think you realize the player we have.
He has versatility in one aspect of the game (scoring). He's not a versatile *player*

u know just as well as i do that we don't have good perimeter defense... anyone who watched the games last year could easily tell u that we were sorely missing an interior defensive presence.

jefferies? you're kidding me right? collins is our best perimeter defender followed by Q Rich... Balkman is a good on ball defender but struggles mightily on help defense... Marbury does a solid job on low post defense & ball denial but struggles mightily defending the pick & roll & gets run off screens very easily... come on man, didn't anyone watch the games last year? all of a sudden we have good perimeter defense now that we added Zach Randolph, Dan Dickau & Fred Jones?

forgot about qrich, but cool that you are tossing players into the perimeter defense category...

read some posts and you'd think we had none.

thanks TMS.

What, Balkman gets the majority of his blocks on help defense. Also Marbury excel last season fighting through screens to stay with his man (after the beginning of the season). Case in point the overtime game with the Pistons. LOL, I guess I watch different games. Jamal and Francis were the weakest. Jamal let his man blow past him effortlessly. Francis was never a factor on defense. Nate's perimeter defense was so so last year.

i guess you do then because at no time last year did we have ANY effective perimeter defenders that defended the pick & roll well at all... there were guys left wide open on the perimeter for 3's all year long & that really killed us... even Isiah admitted as much in interviews over the past week... he said the big area that this team needs to improve on is their perimeter defense & defending the 3 pointer... good defensive teams win more than 33 games in a season.
