I am sad to admit it, but the team that can "win it all" probably doesn't have Marbury on it. Or Curry for that matter. Does anyone honestly believe that adding any one player to this roster makes them capable of competing with the Spurs? This team has no heart. Its fun to see some action in the trade, but its a false hope. You need to build a championship team, not buy one.
You know I gonna spin wit it

I actually think adding a guy like Artest would change the make up of the team. I am not worried about chemistry on this team, Thomas has managed to command the respect from his players and it looks like everyone is on the same page. I think him being a former top talent guard and nba greatest 50 gives him alot of credibility with the players. Add in the fact that he is takes alot of heat for the team.
Back to Artest, he adds a toughness to the knicks that haven't existed since the 90s.

If you have curry, randolph, artest, crawford, marbury.
That is a pretty tough lineup.
If anything, Isaih has shown he doesn't mind taking chances on players that have questionable characters. When talking about this I always have to bring up Sprewell. The guy came here fresh after choking out his coach, played well and the city loved him. A new team in a big city like NY can do wonders to resurrect someones career.

Now imagine a 2nd unit consisting of Lee, Q, balkman, Morris, Collins and the option of always having a low post presence in the game.

I think you'd have to trade Crawford to get Artest. I don't want to trade Crawford, just because he's becoming the leader of the team.

I also think it'd be more important to get a defender in the middle than a guy like Artest. Balkman, Lee and Qrich can provide solid defense on the wings. We need a shotblocker, someone who can defend the lane instead of just clogging it with his butt.

what shotblockers are available? Marcus Camby is the only one i can think of that i'd want, unless we can somehow get a guy like Josh Smith, Jermaine O'Neal or KG obviously.

I don't think any of those guys are available for what we have to offer.

Please everyone, lets stop including Q Rich as a viable contributor to the team. Q's back problems will limit him to probably coming off the bench, if he plays at all. Don't get me wrong, early last year he was looking real good, but that back is something that will always bother him.

I think we stand a better chance of getting Josh Smith, more than anyone else . But why do we need to get a tall player to block shots ? Do we know what this kid morris can do ? Can he block shots, is he athletic ? Lets start looking down the bench for some guys who might be hungry for some time. We gave Mardy some time and he responded well.

I said this before, if we finally want to move out of the mediocracy of the last 7 years, Zach was the first step, Artest can be had and IT should go after him, really. I agree with Michael and TMS, they'll change this disgrace of a NYK mentality of the last years. Artest and Zach have the potential to win big in the East. Cavs are not getting better, Bulls neither and Sheed/Shaq are done next year, the signs are there. We'll have challenges to manage the egos but as a franchise you can prepare for the risks you're taking on, it's simply called management. If you need to recruit a pshycologist or a US Marine drill master, you just do it. I'd rather watch this bunch of crazy talent killing 75%of the league than watching Frye and Jeffries spoiling the fun.

I don't think anyone has any illusions about competing with the Spurs. We're in the East, which is downright awful. It is not far-fetched to think that making another big move could put us up there with the Cavs, who just ain't that great.

Let's worry about the East first, then we can worry about the West.

I think Artest is perfect. The knicks need some meaness and Z-Bo and Artest would add that. Lets all remember that we need somebody who can guard Lebron. Ron Ron might not stop him but he would put him on his ass. Plus he only makes 8 mil with one year left.

i think we can easily get Camby if we're willing to part with D Lee, Malik & either another piece or future pick... we have the talent to give up for a guy like Josh Smith, though i'm not sure ATL is looking to deal him... JO is attainable as well IMO, but again, it will involve giving up a lot of the young players we have on the roster, most likely including Curry &/or D Lee... depending on KG's demands, he can be attainable or not... tho he hasn't come public with any trade demands, i have a good feeling he's in McHale's ear begging him to get him out of Minny & to a bigger market with a team that has at least a chance of contending next season... add him to this current Knicks' roster & they'd be a contender easily in the East.

this team has assets to deal guys... i'm not sure why everyone seems to think we have nothing to offer other teams.

I think Lee would get it done. Not sure if isiah will offer Lee.

I would prefer G Wallace over Artest.

I wonder if we could've added Lee to the Randolph deal to get Martell Webster? I wonder if that was ever discussed? Would you do that if you were Isiah? I think I would.

Isiah already tried 2 deals for Artest in the last month. Both were turned down by the Kings
