I'm going with what others have chimed in- its not by position, but by skill set.
And I think the two largest weaknesses are outside shooting and shot blocking.
And of the two, our greatest need is outside shooting.
With Curry, the opposing teams collapse on us and there isn't one player who other teams fear from outside.
Nate is our best outside shooter- that's scary when you need a midget side show to keep opposing teams honest.
If Almond & Sean Williams are there when we pick, I'd prefer Almond- If Sean Williams is up til 3AM playing video games- granted it was w/his brother- before he was to work out for the knicks, to me it shows he isn't serious. I mean, he's 18/19, not 12.
Sean Williams is displaying family values. So there is a positive spin on it. It just supports what some of negatives that these NBA execs have been saying about him. That he isn't taking the process very serious and he shouldn't be rewarded for it with a first round pick. Who knows.
The thing on Almond is that his Knick career will solely depend on how Curry develops. Almond continues to have trouble breaking down his man to score. If Almond is to succeed with the Knicks then Curry has to learn to pass out of the pocket effectively. One reason why Hubert Davis failed with the Knicks was that Ewing could not effectively pass out of the post. I hope that is one area where Curry is really working on besides defense.
The Knicks maybe better off drafting a Cook or Chandler that they believe have an upside and trade for a shooter like Barnes or Carroll.
