I'm becoming more and more convinced that Knick people just don't know how it works in the NBA. It stares you right ' in the face and says look what I'm doing to you's and you's just look back like you don't understand. I must' be having a nightmare! Wake up, wake up............oooo, it was just all a bad dream.
I'll never trust this' team again.

4949 - here's an alternate take. In order to positioned to snatch a superstar like Kobe requires a corporate philosohy that is built on winning a championship and not simply insuring the garden is not dark for the playoffs.

I am not convinced that the shift in Dolan's thinking has taken place only recently, and passed along to Isiah, with the evidence of having competent young players the NYK faithful will stick with as they mature.

Dolan feared losing the revenue from his expensive courtside seats. Isiah was either instructed to rebuild the talent base through the draft, or the Cablevision checkbook no longer had an unlimited reserve. Either way, the free-agent path is not what it was a decade ago when the likes of (insert name here) were paid and paid very well.

All that matters is not "the beat down" or a defeatist mentality...

but what direction does the franchise take from June 28th?

4949 - do "much, much better" how exactly?

Houston, the responsibility of the previous administration, comes off the cap in a few months

what do you suggest?

How about not spending half a BILLION dollars and trade away 4 possible lottery picks while still not having anything close to a star to build around and being way over the cap.

Oh, and I forgot to add that even with all that, they're still about 50 games under .500 under this current administration.

Isiah said whoever they pick likely won't get much playing time or be a difference maker. He also said they wouldn't use the MLE and we know their trade prospects for a difference maker is slim. So basically the same team that won 33 games will be returning.

that act is tired and the draft and the start of a new season isn't likely to change that.

"beat down" indeed

everyone thought that the MLE was closed by Dolan last year and that the 2 draft picks wouldn't get much burn. JJ and Balkman appeared. Anything can happen.

That's fine, we can end the charade that NOW the salary cap matters and that the plan now is to get under the cap in a few years and sign a big time free agent.

So we might add another Jared Jeffries and role player rookie? I don't think I can contain my excitement!

You know i'm tired of people getting this wrong. NO ONE said that the plan now was to get under the cap. It's ONE of the options that are open to the team now. It's not THE PLAN. The plan is and always was to build a winning team. No matter how you get that done. Just like LA is now trying to finally get Kobe someone to win with, which may not include players they originally had some plan to get. In the NBA it's more than just the initial philosophy or getting that stud. You have to keep adjusting your plan to fit the circumstances that present themselves. Isiah felt that getting Curry to go along with the other young players he has drafted would give the team a chance to one day develop into a contender. You may not agree, but that doesn't make you right. We'll have to see how things progress.

Things change so fast that you have to be ready to take advantage of opportunities that come up. Right now the team is in a position that if no deal presents itself for this team to improve thru a trade, they can develop the young players and look just 2 short years down the road for cap flexibility and the team would still have players young and in their prime.

There should be an official UK policy against unnecessary bold and caps.
The plan is and always was to build a winning team.
That's not a plan. That's a goal. What the Knicks have failed to realize is that you need a plan to reach your goal.

Not everybody so smart like you. PLAN. GOAL. Are you kidding? It's too complicated.
