I find it interesting that the same people (solace) who want to typecast Marbury as always putting his foot in his mouth, conveniently overlook the fact, that based on his positive deeds, his HEART is in the right place

If Marbury was doing negative things there would be threads about him none stop everyday. I doubt the same people saying its overkill about his positive actions would be talking about overkill for his negative actions.

It would be one thing if Earl was filling the whole board up with tons of threads. Its another thing if he makes a post now and then about this topic which is what he is doing.

If Marbury's positive actions don't concern you then don't read the thread. But I guess if you really have it out for Marbury then it probably is really hard to control yourself from wanting to bring it down.

Who was it here who said they were waiting for Marbury to give away his profits from the Starburys to prove that they are on balance a magnanimous venture? Well, there ya go.

Oh, that was me (or at least I was one of 'em). In this case, his donations are at his discretion. I still think it'd be a great selling point for a set amt of proceeds to be donated to his foundation. Marbury the philanthropist.

Steph is not the sharpest crayon in the box, and I would not call him a "leader" nor mother teresa quite yet (towels on head excluded) but for giving profits, even a mil is a good thing and I am glad to see this.

High income folk do give money away. Its ok, even if for the deduction.

Giving it to firefighters of NY is a real cool thing.

On thing, though, and like I said, Im giving him kudos, but if he don't start winning then he is no more substantiated than Paris Hilton. Steph is becoming a celeberty basketball player past his prime who does not win.

Anna Kornikova was the same. But doable.

Marbury Reunites Child, Lost Dog - Still Can't Catch a Break

Knicks starting point guard Stephon Marbury today reunited young Billy Stuart and his lost dog, Buster.

Billy Stuart, while expressing gratitude to Marbury, still cannot forgive the journeyman point guard. “He got Lenny Wilkins fired.” explained young Billy.

Billy’s mom also takes a dim view of Marbury. “I’ll never forget that stunt he pulled back in the 90's” said the long term Nets fan, “when he wrote ‘All Alone’ on his sneakers.”

Billy’s dad, however, struck a more forgiving tone. “Well,” he said, “he had a real tough time, growing up on the South Side of Chicago.”. However, he added, “I’m still ticked that he got Keith Van Horn traded.”
