Should we cannonize Starbury now or should we wait until he starts bitching about not getting a contract extension?

Typical HATER BS! Just give it a rest already. He's been doing things for years and now people are more aware of it and reporting on it. It's actually a good thing, cuz it may bring more high profile people to the cause. Besides this has nothing to do with his BB career or his contracts in the future. What do you freakin care so long as he's doing what he should be doing for this team. He's getting better and MOST of us can see it, yet haters will always find something negative to say. You should be ashamed or better yet, just be quiet cuz you sound silly.

nixluva - did you read Ira Newble's comments on Darfur?

I find it interesting that the same people (solace) who want to typecast Marbury as always putting his foot in his mouth, conveniently overlook the fact, that based on his positive deeds, his HEART is in the right place

If Marbury was doing negative things there would be threads about him none stop everyday. I doubt the same people saying its overkill about his positive actions would be talking about overkill for his negative actions.

It would be one thing if Earl was filling the whole board up with tons of threads. Its another thing if he makes a post now and then about this topic which is what he is doing.

If Marbury's positive actions don't concern you then don't read the thread. But I guess if you really have it out for Marbury then it probably is really hard to control yourself from wanting to bring it down.

"The Knicks have three forwards on the roster who are defense-oriented and can't shoot a lick: Renaldo Balkman, Jared Jeffries and David Lee."

- Marc Berman

new york, ny - I was considering a, "howcum David Lee can't shoot a lick?" thread but thought better of it.

I try to create threads that are as relevant as possible. Thank you for the recognition. Keep on doin' whachoo doin'.

Marbury said he is allocating profits from his $14.98 Starbury sneakers and upcoming children's books to make $1 million donations to the NYPD, fire department, EMT and New York City teachers.

Who was it here who said they were waiting for Marbury to give away his profits from the Starburys to prove that they are on balance a magnanimous venture? Well, there ya go.

Oh, that was me (or at least I was one of 'em). In this case, his donations are at his discretion. I still think it'd be a great selling point for a set amt of proceeds to be donated to his foundation. Marbury the philanthropist.

Steph is not the sharpest crayon in the box, and I would not call him a "leader" nor mother teresa quite yet (towels on head excluded) but for giving profits, even a mil is a good thing and I am glad to see this.

High income folk do give money away. Its ok, even if for the deduction.

Giving it to firefighters of NY is a real cool thing.

On thing, though, and like I said, Im giving him kudos, but if he don't start winning then he is no more substantiated than Paris Hilton. Steph is becoming a celeberty basketball player past his prime who does not win.

Anna Kornikova was the same. But doable.

Marbury Reunites Child, Lost Dog - Still Can't Catch a Break

Knicks starting point guard Stephon Marbury today reunited young Billy Stuart and his lost dog, Buster.

Billy Stuart, while expressing gratitude to Marbury, still cannot forgive the journeyman point guard. “He got Lenny Wilkins fired.” explained young Billy.

Billy’s mom also takes a dim view of Marbury. “I’ll never forget that stunt he pulled back in the 90's” said the long term Nets fan, “when he wrote ‘All Alone’ on his sneakers.”

Billy’s dad, however, struck a more forgiving tone. “Well,” he said, “he had a real tough time, growing up on the South Side of Chicago.”. However, he added, “I’m still ticked that he got Keith Van Horn traded.”

Make an appointment with a podiatrist now just in case they can't fit you into their schedule in a couple of weeks when your feet start breaking down from the faulty footwear you just purchased.
