JO for David Lee is a horrific deal for the Knicks, first lee is cheap and plays well next to curry, your essentially putting a player just like eddy with a little more range next to him that has to operate on the block....

Its going to clog things up and piss people off, his best days are behind him he is going to give you 18pts 9rbs and 2blks.

If you play lee 35 minutes your getting 14pts 12rbs for 16 million less i don't see why you would do it.

Everybody who understands the bbal even a bit will sign up under this.
But is NBA only about bbal?
NBA is about business, about entertainment, about big egos.
This is where the bbal things are getting screwed big time.

we should draft Almond, and look to move someone like nate to the sonics for their second round pick if the kid from bc falls there. if not we are not in a good position to make a deal......or look to buy the pick.......

the only deal i would do is for Wallace because he has two good years left in him and the ability to space the floor and play tough. If we can get rid of a couple of contracts like crawford, jefferies and give up frye in the process i think its a no brainer. We can retain nate and see if he will commit himself to playing team ball and become a good spot up shooter......

Curry/Rose
Wallace/Lee
Q/Balkman
Marbury/Francis/Almond
Collins/Nate

Make the playoffs get some experience and learn and start building......You could play curry 32 minutes a night and maximize him while shifting wallace over to center and giving lee the minutes he needs.....

We two years are up you have Wallace, Marbury, Francis all going which is close to 50 million you can either acquire a talent with their contract or just play the free agent market with a balanced team.....

From the statements attributed to Isiah it seems like he feels the team is closer to being a contender than 3 years away. It sounds like he thinks the team is maybe a 1 or 2 years away at most, if he can add the right player. That being the case I just get the feeling that Lee is the one guy that will be sacrificed, due to his value right now. I LOVE Lee's game, but I realize that he is the most likely young talent to be used to get another star player. My hope is that Isiah can't get a deal done and we move to try and make a smaller deal for another pick in this draft. Then i'd try to take Sean Williams and Morris Almond. Those 2 guys would set this team up for long term success IMO.

this makes me sad. if IT thinks that "one player" makes us a championship contender, then Wow

that one star player makes us a playoff team. add 2-3 excellent role players and then we're talking rings. but if we're expecting those role players to come from within, there goes the 1-2 year timeline.

it would be typical isiah mismanagment to trade a promising youth and count on a huge character X-factor to replace him.

I have no idea, why would anyone that won 2 championships as a player give long term deals to jared jefferies and jerome james, not to mention trading for steve francis, some things just don't make sense

He won as a player and looking from players prespective it's a different ball-game.
Not everybody can change the point of view so easy.
IT knows how to play no doubt and he knows some how to coach but he has no idea how to built a team.
The sad thing is he is stubborn enough to not learn from his mistakes but instead he is fighting to the end to prove himself right. Good for the player - bad for GM. Mistakes are part of live. Nobody can built working system without mistakes. You make them, you learn from them, you do better. Not IT zo... he is lost case.

So let me get this straight. Two years ago he blasted for drafting Lee instead of Taft. Two years ago he gives up an unprotected first round pick rather than give up Lee for Curry. Was absolutely bashed for doing so by let me see most who posted on this thread. Now he is getting bashed for rumors that include Lee in trades to acquire superstar players. Yet according to some on this forum no one wants any player the Knicks have. You can't have it both ways, either he overvalues Lee or undervalues Lee. Either our young players are assets or they have no value. Please make up your mind, its getting confusing.

Its just curious the Knicks could have retained their lottery selection by giving up pick 30.......

Isiah made a nice pick with david lee, but i think really came up empty on the 8th and 21st selections, you deal from a position of power when no one is going at curry hard, except atlanta who didn't sign him outright.....he got fleeced just like the crawford deal, like the malik rose deal, like the mo taylor deal, the q deal, the francis deal......

Three players are what we need on the roster i will exclude q because he is very injured, collins, lee and balkman and he didn't give lee enough love this season, he deserved to play the entire game at the pf slot. Yet he had to deal with outplaying frye in summer league, the preseason, and the regular season without starting

It's simple: Lee is too versatile for Isiah's liking. If Lee stopped scoring at 60% from the field, stopped making good passes, and committed tons of turnovers but kept his good rebounding stats, Isiah would view him as the perfect compliment to Eddy.
