I wouldn't rule out Boston either.

rumors out of boston have them moving the #5 + ratliff (+ possibly west) for marion + #24 + #29

what's there at #5 that warrent giving up marion and 2 picks? Wow, PHO is having a super sale.

my darkhorse prediction is marion (+ both picks) to charlotte for the #8 where the suns take noah.

I read somewhere that Sarver has told Kerr to trim about $8-10mil off the payroll.

We'll see it when it happens. I do agree that they need to trade Zack, but I'm not sure what they'll get in return.

Although, if the Bulls can get Zack, that'd really help them in their quest for a championship.

Maybe. Zach can't pass out of the double team or play defense. He'd help with floor spacing but I don't think he'd make his teammates better. He's basically a better rebounding and shooting Eddy. His teammates might just get frustrated with never getting the ball back after it goes in to him. The only advantage of going after Zach is that it wouldn't take much to get him. But the Bulls have built such a good foundation by getting versatile, two-way players. I don't think now is the time to deviate from that approach.

I think this is the reason that will get him. They know they are one good scorer away from contending. If they can get Zach for #9 pick and one of their lesser players, they add a 20+ point lowpost scoring option and keep the core of their team together. It is hard to pass on that when you know you will have to give up much more to get O'Neal or Gasol.

man if they can come away with oden AND conley and only give up randolph and/or jarret jack man that team is gonna be absolutely LOADED with talent, my goodness.

conley, roy, aldridge, and oden is a phenomenal core.

I think Billy Knight's tenure in Atlanta will officially be over if all he can get for the 11th pick is Jarret Jack. I know JJ would be going home but I think Hawk fans as well as myself want something more than Jack for that pick. I rather go after Miller with that pick. No way does Thorn give up the 17th pick and Jefferson for problem child. The Bulls trade makes sense.

I understand your point but I think Jack for the #11 pick is not a bad move and is certainly better than Knight's decision to pass on Paul and Roy the past two seasons. Jack provides defense, decent scoring, and solid pg play and he would clearly be better than the pgs already on the team. I guess it all depends on if you think Jarvis or Acie Law has more potential than Jack. I think Jack has proved that he can be a solid starting PG (he will probably never be an allstar but he is solid). Or you could roll the dice on Law or wait for Jarvis to develop. Either way, Atlanta definitely needs to come out of this draft with a starting caliber pg.

cause charlotte could absorb Marions contract without taking anything back.

i think a randolph for antawn jamison trade would make both teams (more) competitive immediately. heard that rumor somewhere - i think both those players would be good fits.

no real updates yet but the guy who released the information equated the happiness rating at 7 out of 10 about this deal. and he talked about the culture change and how it's very important to the building of the team.

he also says this:
Of course the most obvious, rumored, conjectured moves involve:

#1 - Filling a need at SF because the need in the middle will likelky be filled by the big 'O'.

#2 - Zach would be one of the most likely moved because of the duplication between himself and Aldridge and most of us believe Aldridge is staying put. Jack seems to also be mentioned a lot.

#3 - Who knows...filler contracts often skew a trade to not what it originally looked like.

all signs point to an rj + #17 deal for zach (but that is purely speculation)

RJ's a versatile two-way player. It'd be tough to give him up for a lazy head case like Zach even without including the pick. Why should NJ have to throw a pick in on top of that???

Blazers assistant coach Maurice Lucas worked on the floor as a defender against Oden and came away with a historical perspective.

"He reminds me of Nate the Great — Nate Thurmond," Lucas told the Oregonian. "He had the ability to stand in the middle and could block a shot with his left hand or his right hand. When you can do that, that's an amazing skill. Bill Walton had that to a certain extent. But that's what this kid brings.

"I still think he's a little raw. He has some skills he has to develop, but once he does, he's going to be awesome.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
