i don't think that's possible unless we're taking on a bad contract from SAC, or like you said including a pick, which i don't want to do... i'd give up Malik for Artest in a heartbeat tho... contracts are the same... this is the type of move i'm willing to make now, because we can't just sit idle & let all the other teams get better while we stay stagnant unless we have a true franchise player to build around, & right now we don't.

wait, you wouldn't do JJ (James or Jeffries) + 23rd pick for Artest? I would.

I would do Jeffries, 23rd, Morris for Artest.

Is Sac going to get a better offer than Jared & #23?

I think a lot of GM's can chalk JJ2's bad year to being in nyc, etc- he's definitely not a great player, but a role player who started to put up decent effort for us when he got more minutes.

it depends on who's available w/that #23... would you have given up Balkman & Jefferies for a run at Artest? it's not that clearcut of a decision for me now, but at the time i'd probably have done it... & even still, i don't see SAC giving us Artest AND taking on more salary to do it... Malik & #23 would probably be the deal they'd want, & i'm not sure i'd do it to be honest... Malik & a future 2nd rounder is the most i'd give up, or maybe Frye & Jefferies. (& yeah, i'd rather have that #23 pick than Frye at this point... his value has really tanked in my eyes)

I wouldn't sell low on Frye, better to see if he can regain some value and sell on an upswing.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.
