Everyone has pretty much stated there stance on who the Knicks should pick but is sporadic and spread amongst many threads. Lets say everything remains the same and the Knicks are unable to land another pick. Who should the Knicks take with their one and only 23rd pick?
Avis Wyatt
Morris Almond
Sean Williams
Josh McRoberts
Derrick Byars
Marcus Williams
Rodney Stuckey

I have been doing my research. At first I was praising Rodney Stuckey but honestly he just wouldnt fit with this Knicks team. With Marbury and Curry as the foundation with Lee, Frye, Morris, Balkman and Collins as the other main pieces. I feel the Knicks should draft Derrick Byars. Q. Richardson lingering back problem makes this choice that much easier. Derrick Byars is a complete player with four years experience in the NCAA. I reminds me of Danny Granger. He would be a great addition to our Knicks.

as much as i would love for him to slip, i don't it's gonna happen Cook. but i like this kid too. we need a sf that can play 'd' AND shoot. i also like morris due to his radar from three, but he's another sg. don't we have like four already? maybe if we can break it off w/francis. and get rid of jj2...it's not you stevie, it's me. it's me that can't hit a shot when it counts or pass the ball to save my life!

Not so sure I like the idea of starbury and Curry being our foundation. The scarier thing is that Dolan and Thomas are the foundation under that foundation.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Marbury isn't part of the future foundation. He's gone after his contract is up.

I would perfer the Knicks move Frye in a package for a legit SF and draft Sean Williams at 23. Byars does everything okay, but not one thing great.

I think the Knicks have to take into consideration that we need defensive minded players, since that was probably our greatest weakness this last season. We have plenty of offensive minded players, but we need soem D. So whatever they do, if anything, lets hope it's for someone who can bolster our defense.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Big up side.............. I think Isiah knows he isn't in postion to really win right now. We are waiting on a couple of players to develop or to win now Isiah has to try and trade those players for an ageing superstar.

If we are making this pick it's becaue we couldn't make a trade so get a player with allstar talent.

what happened to the 2nd round pick?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

If we shoot off 2-3 of our main young guys + a pick for a guy like J Oneal--prone to injury and he does get hurt --then you are no where. This is the time of the year where other teams hold you up--where you are bidding up for players. I'd rather be opportunistic and continue to build from within. I would really like to get the shooter we need

yea, you have to be careful with trading the farm to get a guy like J. Oneal, the pacers know teams like the knicks are desperate, and they will try and rob us, as you said, we know who J.O is, and he gets injured a lot and honestly I think he is on the decline somewhat because of those injuries. He is still a heck of a player, but I rather take the patient route, develop what we have within..

A lot.

Oh and we still owe an unprotected #1 pick in 2010 for the privilege of waiting for Marbury's contract to expire, so we might be under the cap in 2 years.

I'm pretty confident in the two guys I picked.
A. They fit a need
B. They are highly proven on the level below
C they can both play 2 guard and Dudley at 6-7 can bring the ball up if needed
D. Great Size on both players who are both 4 year players.
E. They have skills and maturity that help the team now-- and gives us depth at a position of need
F. Upgrades our outside shooting

Maybe a guy like wyatt or seasn williams has more upside????????????? but what I think this team needs is chemistry fit--cut the fat find a 9 man core with 23- guys who can help with injury depth and I really like these two players to do that. I don't think any GM in basketball who look at the Knicks would disagree with these two picks and one will be there.

I'd have to say that if we only have the #23 pick and can't pick up another, then Isiah should go for Almond. We could really use an H2O type SG on this team. Yeah a PF would be great too, but we actually have plenty of PF's already and they can play. Perhaps just giving them more of a chance with another deadeye shooter outside would make their job easier.
