Blue we'll just agree to disagree that's not how I saw the interview. There are about 3 things that show his low character in the interview. You didn't pick up on them.
Okay true, we'll leave it as your little secret.
No secret kind of obvious really.
Whatever.
List folks, to anyone who hasn't heard the clips. WOW, OMG, it's not what True would lead you to believe. OMG, WOW, on the contrary.
He only sees things from his side.
Take for instance he was mad at the organization for trading his best friend Caron Butler and not telling him about it until after the trade.
Kobe went to Colorado to get shoulder surgery before the 2003-2004 season without team physician consultation and none of the Laker officials knew he was in Colorado getting the procedure done. Then to top it off he catches a case creating a circus for the 2003-2004 season. He actually ruined that hopeful dream season with Payton and Malone on the team due to his actions.
Pot Meet Kettle
He said he had been quiet for a few yrs on things because he felt it was right and he wanted to see what they were trying to put together. But now that things haven't worked out for him, it's time to talk about personal confidential meetings that took place between he and the owner. If he really looked at things objectively certain plans change because of circumstances. His first yr as a Solo Artist Leader here's what transpired
Lamar Odom missed the last 18gms of the 2004-2005 season and played about 10 other games hurt that season, Kobe himself missed 16gms, Kwame Brown missed 40gms, Luke Walton missed 21gms, The Lakers finished in the Lottery. Now with all those injuries and lottery pick in hand.... keep in mind Boozer(missed 31gms) and Baron(missed 36gms) were injured this same yr, they were in a quandry. It would have been a risky move to try and maneuver trades for those players possibly even having to sacrifice pick(s) to get something done. If they wouldn't have been a lottery team that season, then maybe they would of had more tradeable assets. The Lakers plan at that point, like probably many other GM's would have been was to retool around Kobe(27yrs old at the time). So Lottery 10th pick 2005, Charlotte's 2005 2nd rd pick(37th) and their own 2nd round 2005 pick(39th) and Miami's 26th pick in the 2006 draft in the fold while being capped out ($70mil thereabouts) with injury prone players they figured let's retool. That's 4 chances to land a David Lee type or potential franchise caliber player.
What if they traded for Baron and/or Boozer and they both blow their knees or backs out respectively? That would have crippled that franchise. At least with the moves they've made it hasn't set the franchise back, it's just left them stuck at middle ground.
Then discussing the specifics of what was said about Shaq, really wasn't necessary. All he had to say Buss had a vision of building a successful team around me without Shaq in the fold, well before Shaq wast traded. Let's keep this in mind, this Primadonna was actually trying to work S&T with the Bulls or sign with the Clippers if they per his ridiculous request in typical Bitch Kome like fashion move the franchise to Anaheim.(LOL @ that request) So he was the first to show signs of wishy washy behavior and to then point fingers back at the hand that has fed you just because things haven't quite worked out is LOW BUDGET. Kome needs to understand it's a business first. If he wants a trade just be an F'N man and demand a trade instead of like what Bucher said laying the groundwork for possible departure absolving yourself of any blame.

Well at least it's clear what you were talking about now.
I only caught the last 3-5 mins of the SAS interview but it sounds like, from his perspective, three years ago he and Phil were told two different directions for the team. He feels lied to. He also feels he's been hung out to dry by the organization after unfairly shouldering the blame for the shaq trade in silence.
And if trading for kidd or boozer etc had failed at least they could say they had tried to accomplish something while possessing "the best player in the league" instead of muddling around uncertain of direction.
both Sahq and kobe have said they think if West had stayed that both of them would still be there. The picture that is emerging is of a nepotistic family situation where the son is trying to establish his legacy apart from Kobe and West. That may be fine, but not after you sign the guy based upon false promises. And as we've seen with the Dolan's, there can be a lot of incompetence when Jr takes over.
So it's one thing to say that retooling was the smart move, but really it wasn't. If LA had gone full rebuild they could have scored big picks or payroll relief for Shaq and Kobe. Instead they're ending up with NOTHING to do anything with. That team is soft, they're cap strapped, and with few good prospects.
Complain all you want about Kobe being a team wrecker, but with him gone I think we'll see how much he's been carrying that sack of donuts.
No different than when T-Mac was carrying the sack of donuts in Orlando with Doc Rivers as coach, No different than when Iverson was carrying the sack of donuts in Philly post LB, No different than when Pierce was carrying the sack of donuts post Walker.
