defensively, between Mutmbo and mourning. Offensively maybe a little bit better than mutombo... His offensive skills are really waaaaaaay behind his defensive skills...

I agree his defensive skills definetly remind me of a Zo (minus the nastiness) or Mutumbo. But his offensive skills are noooooooooooo where near the level of Duncan, Ewing, or Hakeem.

Agreed. I really like the Mourning comparison. Most apt to me. His offensive game seems a bit raw and unpolished. Russell, Shaq, David Robinson? Dont get carried away with this guy. His play hasnt justified the breathlessness.

The Chief. Just the way his body moves. A little herky-jerky but still dominant.

I think people forget how nasty mourning was. Mourning probably was the most fierce shot blocker over the past 15 years, and a very competent scorer...

pimpin.....no white flag here, oden had a very good year, nothing more
you have to remember the stats oden put up were not stellar. and after only 1 year.....please stop it
during the championship run i was not impressed with his joe smith type of performance. again good to excellent but not stellar

street and smith published their 100 greatest college bball players that had only 1 freshman, george mcginnis, who had a monster freshman year. if that list was revised today, oden would not make the list.

btw...zo, ewing, the dream all made the the list. talking about the dream, who i consider in the top 5 centers of all time. "olajuwon averaged 20.5 points, 20 rebounds and 9 blocks in the final 4 and was named most outstanding player, one of few players so honored from a losing team " (street & smith)

what do expect when the name olajuwon, translation is "always being on top" (street and smith}

again pimpin, please, please do not put oden's college performance on a par with the players mentioned

bill russell was a winner at every level entered and probably the greatest winner in TEAM sport(s). oden has not won a champioship on the college level but yet is being compared to the great bill russell....talk about hype!

i do not let this hype distract me from the real person oden is, and the player i hope he turns out to be
to his community and the nba

Bobby, you are so lost that Gilligan will be found before you.
