Again, does racism exist? Sure. Does it need to be thrown in everyone's face every waking moment? NO. Stop with the bull**** threads already.

If you agree with crap like this:

The language is coded (those NBAers don't play basketball "the right way") but it's not hard to figure out the true meanings.

Then, I'm sorry, but you are the racist. A terrible assumption loaded with utter garbage. Almost EVERYONE agrees that the quality of the league has gone down. The US has lost multiple consecutive olympics, where we used to dominate. We don't play fundamental basketball. And Playa, this just isn't the appropriate forum for this kind of extremist propaganda. Enough already.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Part of the issue is people like you want to put your head in the sand and pretend that the world isn't based on it which does more to keep the flames burning. Almost every issue that is done in the world has to do with RACE AND CREED. From political decisions concerning Iraq to where do you want to send your kids to school. And if you are naive enough to believe different then you are part of the problem not the solution.

Wrong. I don't want to address it at every waking moment. There are bigger issues in the world than people's general insecurities. I don't care to listen to people whine and complain all the time while they DO NOTHING about it. If you feel like a victim, do something PROCACTIVE about it, instead of bitching all over a message board.

So like the Native American author, you feel as a black man you're better qualified to know how white people think than they are?

"What are you guys talking about? We'll always have Adam Morrison!"

Bob this is my point, why do you think Charlotte took Morrisson over the likes of a Brandon Roy. Maybe the fans in Charlotte will come and support morrisson out of curiosity than a projected NBA ready BRANDON ROY

All do respect, Solace. Was it not you who went on a 7 page manifest about how Israel have been taking crap from the Muslims in the Middle East. Jumping down everyone's throat and calling them a anti-semitic or racist who offered a different opinion. This board was hijacked during the Lebanon bombings last year and now you are tired of it. OK.

Martin you don't think Jordan wasn't going for ticket sales looking for the next Larry Bird in the bible belt ? ok

I believe MJ learned from the Kwame pick(potential) and wanted to 1st and foremost make money(ticket sales) for Charlotte Majority owner Robert Johnson by drafting adam morrisson .

I could be wrong !

Playa, I just wish when people posted racial stuff they went right for the good stuff. Like I remember a study a couple of years ago that found that if a stack of resumes were submitted with job applications those with black sounding names stood less of a chance of getting interviewed than white names. Studies like that I find far more convincing and worthwhile opposed to declarations that if a shock jock comedian calls someone a "nappy headed ho" it means he's racist, no questions asked. Or articles like this which are based purely on conjecture.

Here, you know you love it when these things escalate, so lets stir the pot. I'm gonna turn the tables and make up garbage to let you know how blacks really feel:

"Blacks don't care about good basketball, or team sports in general. In fact, listening to a coach represents being dominated by the 'boss man' slave master, so they're happier to watch a guy who thinks he's too good for the rules. The bigger the thug, the more blacks will appreciate the opposition to white authority he stands for.

Blacks will never be satisfied until the game breaks down into anarchy and individualism. In their minds, Artest and Steven Jackson running into the stands to punch the "cracker" in the face was the pinnacle of what black athletes have to offer. Jordan was fun, but apolitical; Stephen Jackson is the direction the league needs to go.

Blacks want to see basketball players who represent life as they know it it - ghetto life - where beat-'em-up and shoot-'em-up is the only rule that counts. They hate that there have been great white players like Cousey, Havlicek, Bird, Stockton and Nash. They want whites like Scotty Brooks and Travis Knight, - Pee Wee herman types who they can beat up on. They hate that with rules whites stand a chance in this league. When they say the game is "boring" it's code for them wanting less rules to better allow black guys to kick some white butt. Get a black NBA commissioner and the first thing you'll see is him throwing away the rule book, the dress code, the anti-drug fines, and especially the fines for leaving the bench and rushing the stands.

Blacks wont be satisfied till all order has broken down and it's And1 style ball with drugs and knives."

There, I said it, so it must be true, right? Don't let it ruffle any feathers, I'm just "staying ahead of the game."

Top Selling Jerseys in China in 2007

1) Kobe Bryant
2) Allen Iverson
3) Tracy McGrady
4) Dwyane Wade
5) LeBron James
6) Yao Ming
7) Kevin Garnett
8) Tim Duncan
9) Carmelo Anthony
10) Gilbert Arenas

9 of the 10 are black, and Yao is 6th. if people really refuse to watch unless they have someone to "relate to" (because we all can relate to a high society celebrity millionaire, as long as their skin color is the same), then how do you explain Chinese loving the Kobe, AI and TMac? or is it only white american people who fit your theory?

Wouldn't the author have to prove that the popularity of the league amongst blacks has stayed the same or increased. For all we know the popularity of the league may have fallen further amongst blacks than it has for whites. For an article like this even to be brought to discussion wouldn't these statistics have to be presented.

It's gotten to the point that anytime anyoen doesn't like somehting a black, gay or woman does than they are labelled a racist, homophobe or sexist. That is the biggest threat to free speech in our country. It's literally gotten to the point where you have to enjoy everything that certain groups do in order to avoid being called names. This probably causes more racism, sexism and homophobia as a response.

Black people hate Tim Duncan. It's genetic. If they liked Tim Duncan, they'd be Asian.

I agree, its tribal, but the "typical white american fan has no one to root for?"

White and black players are different. It doesn't necessarily mean one is better' than the other. And besides, this is just basketball. Some of the greatest players in Baseball, NFL and Hockey of all-time are white. Perhaps if blacks were given an even plain in the social world, it might be an even, if not a different story. Tiger Woods for instance is making a case that blacks can be as good as anyone in golf. If Josh Gibson got the chance to play along side Babe Ruth, he might of been a better hitter in HR's, or just as good. So they say. There's a lot of Caribbean athletes in major league sports today, but hardly any have really stuck out as much as the others. There are rarely Asians, and even more rare are American Indian athletes. All and all, I hate to sound like I'm constantly defending playa, and maybe I am, but the underpriveledge societies in this country alone have been made to believe that they would not amount to anything better. So with that, I don't beleive we would ever truely know who is a better athlete, if there's even such a thing, not until everyone gets the chance to show they're stuff.

As for basketball? I like basketball and even though no one knows what race I am (and won't know), I enjoy watching the game and the athlectic abilites that all of these players exhibit, white, black, asian, hispanic, whatever.
I'll never trust this' team again.
