Deron Williams is actually putting up stephon marbury numbers. Marbs was doing 20 and 8 for the first 8 years of his career. Marbs never had the type of talent he has now. When he did he met the spurs and almost single handedly beat them. That spurs team won the title.

We always go through this. Marbs is a hard ass for no reason, but he was the 2nd best point guard for 8 years right behind kidd as far as numbers.

Bad luck. Marbs left KG and the bad luck followed him. All his teams were injured all the time except that suns team for one year.

Deron may eventually have a more successful career than marbs as time goes on but to say the kid is better already is not fair.

And Dominique was the second best player behind Jordan for a long time too.... didn't amount to much.

It's about winning not numbers.

When you say winning, are you talking about Championships? Making the playoffs? Advancing far in the playoffs? Division titles? What are we talking here?

Deron is a lot better than Steph, especially at this point in their careers.

Stephon Marbury SHOULD be better than Deron Williams with the talent and athletic ability he has, but his head and ego got in the way, along with the fact that he wouldn't listen to any of his coaches.

Right now, it's not even a contest. Williams can run the offense, penetrate whenever he wants too, shoot and plays hard on both ends, while playing fundamentally at that. Now he's in his second year and already advanced 2 more rounds than Marbury has his whole career, and there's a chance that Marbury may retire without being able to advance a round.

1. Josh Smith rumored to not get along with teammates.

we need to stop targeting players where something like this is step 1.

for serious.

I don't get to see Utah games very much but it seems to me that in only his second year Deron is winning games and making it deep into the playoffs. His teammates may be better than anything Marb had to work with OR you could also say that Deron is making the players around him better because of how he is running the team. It could also be the coach and the system, but Deron is part of that winning process.

Let's not do a stat-by-stat comparison of players to see who is better than the next; I am pretty sure if Nash and Marbury went 1-on-1 Marbury would beat him to a game of 11 if both were healthy, but no one in their right mind would want Marbury on the Suns over Nash.

I just think Deron is a better player and PG.

No headcases. The desporate infusion of talent that Isiah felt was needed backfired on us.

No Ron Artests and no Josh Smith. A guy that is toxic on a team even more pathetic than ours is not improvement.

A few years ago when Chaney and Layden were under the dolan curse he (dolan) insisted we have high charactor guys only. I think he did not wanted outlaw nutjobs who like dogs but he had some guys that were solid pros and worked together despite being overpaid, and were old and not athletic.

Frye, lee, Mardy are those kinds of kids and we should be more patient with them. Especially Frye who to me deserves one more year before we cast him off as a throw in for some misguided starphuch trade.

Now im totally convinced, people on this **** don't have any idea what they are talking about.......

Steph is better than Deron, thats the funniest thing i have ever heard. Lets factor in defense, and being a team leader, hitting big shots (something marbury hardly ever does with the exception of three games this season)

Please get a ****ing clue.....
Deron 16.2pts 9.3ass 3.3rbs one of the better defensive guards in the league
Steph 16.4pts 5.4ass 2.9rbs not a noted defender

1. Nash 2. Kidd 3. Paul 4. Davis 5. Williams

-Western Conference Finals vs. 10th team in the east

And Boozer isn't a star?
Boozer 24.7pts 12.4rbs 3.1ass 1.0stl in the playoffs
Duncan 24.2pts 12.2rbs 3.3ass .54stl in the playoffs
Amare 25.3pts 12.1rbs 0.6ass 1.30st in the playoffs

I would say he is a star and has been one, just doesn't get the notice
