Curry was never put in situations isiah is asking him to be in. Why he wasn't being groomed for this when he got into the league is beyond me. He was 18 when he got into the league. Its a ****ing crime that he wasn't groomed better. By now he would have been a black belt. Right now eddy is probably a green belt.

Anyway, his offensive game still needs improvement. He has a natural touch around the basket. He needs some more deception in his game in the way of head fakes and some drop step moves. If he could spin baseline he would be a terror.

His jumpshot is money. It looks great and he is pretty accurate with it. Isiah talked about expanding his game more but said he wants to save it for next season. I can see how he can expand currys game more but its definately better to continue to pace him. In just 2 seasons, eddy has done more than he ever has. He is showing that he picks up things fast. I can't see curry not improving at the start of next season and then making strides as the season goes along.

You know eddy curry is probably the last person on the team the knicks have to worry about.

How bout starting a thread about channing and his bitch ass and run his name into the ground. Eddy curry does not deserve the nonsense he gets from the fans just because he sucks on defense and rebounding. The guy has shown that he can improve and the chances are that he will.

hahaha, so I take it you are not a frye fan? LOL!!!

Positive

Is Big
Can Score Around The Basket Very Well
Demands Double Team
Athletic for his size
draws fouls

Negative

Turnover Prone
Not a good rebounder
Not a good shot blocker
Not a good post defender
Terrble help defender
not a good passer
lacks consistant desire
poor outside shooter
poor free throw shooter
poor conditioning/stamina

I'd trade the negatives for the positives any day.

You forgot to add 'quickness'. He might be athletic, but he's not that quick which would probably explain some of his rebounding and defensive problems.

Kwame is no Eddie Curry :) I think in Eddy's case it's not his fault that the league was going younger and younger and taking guys before they were ready, with no system in place yet to deal with undeveloped kids like him. Curry has been coddled since day one and it seems no one has ever really been able to get thru to him. I think NOW he is beginning to realize just how good he can be int his league. Remember how he started this year. He didn't have the confidence that he now has. Remember when he destroyed Ben Wallace and realized that no one could really stop him. He gained tremendous confidence this year and that is gonna have a carry over effect going into next year.

If he does lose weight and puts in the work with Aguirre and Ewing, I think he has a VERY good chance to come back a different player next year. The rest of the league doesn't really want to see an in shape and improved Curry. I'm surprised that some of us aren't more patient with him and for that matter Frye. These guys are young and talented, but their future isn't all written in stone. They can easily put things together and get to another level. IMO we have much more bigman talent than the Bulls and many other teams. Who knows how good Lee will get or Morris for that matter. I'm not in a rush and I don't believe the Knicks need to be either. If we take our time, the sky won't come crashing down. So let's see what Curry does this summer and hope that it turns out great. ANY TRUE Knick fan shoule be pulling for his success, not bashing him and practically calling for him to be a failure. Surely you must realize how great it would be if this guy puts it all together?

Lets hope you're right Luva. Just keep in mind there are still people expecting next season to be the one where Tim Thomas puts it all together and fulfills his potential. Year after year.

Dude should have went straight to college and did the four like everyone else. Right now he'd be going into his third year, with some kind of development and maybe better defensive skills.

Point is, he would have had a foundation to grow on.

how can lack of outside shot be a negative for curry? if anything it should be a plus... I mean it is like listing a lack of post game, a negative for steve nash.. come on!
I definitely agree with your first post about it not being necessary to post his thread!

That said, I think a jump shot would open up Eddy's game a lot. Teams couldn't collapse on him on the perimeter if he was a scoring threat (or if they did, it would really open up the paint). Being able to score from anywhere within 20 feet is one of the best assets of guys like Boozer, Duncan, JO, and Bosh.

I am not talking about a 20 foot jumper.. im talking a bout a 10 foot jumper. The guy doesent have any kind of jump shot, and yes that is a negative

I hate to disagree with you, but Curry CAN hit a jumper, he just DOESN'T take them. He of course needs to add that to his game and feel comfortable with it. His stroke is VERY nice and late in the year he started to showcase a little of that. If you remember his shots looked good. He wasn't throwing up bricks. He looks like he should be able to hit for a decent % in time. I wouldn't want him going crazy with jumpers, but just the threat of him doing that will give defenders another thing to worry about and as quick as his is, that can lead to a few more fouls, when he pump fakes and drives. The BIGGEST reason to add the jumper is so he can face the defense and make better passes. He'll be able to see doubles coming so they'll be less effective. You have to be pulling for this guy to have a productive summer, cuz if he can add a couple of things, this team is gonna really benefit from that.

Personally I think Eddie should be working on raising his intensity level so that he csn grab more boards. What do we need him shooting jumpers for? A balanced roster will help him more than lowering his FG % by steppingn out to 15 feet in my opinion.
I just hope that people will like me
