The funny part about this whole argument is that Dirk had a terrible series and these were his numbers

Dirk 19.7pts 11.3rbs 2.3ass 1.3blks 1.8stls 38%fg 84%ft
EC 19.5pts 7.0rbs 0.8ass 0.4stls 0.5blks 58%fg 61%ft

Eddy Curry had a career year and is supposed to be the franchise savior and everyone is dumping on a guy that took his team to the finals and leads his team to the playoffs year after year, and was the victim of a terrible matchup and his coach didn't have the sense to try to knock them out in their last meeting of the season, and changed his starting lineup to adjust to an eigth seed.

FWIW, I wasn't too thrilled with the way Jason Terry played either. I think that old adage that both the Suns and Mavs improved when Nash moved is bogus.

While it's true the Mavs had a ceiling on their play even while Nash was there, I really don't think that have been so decimated by GS with him there. They really suffered a leadership deficit in that series, and I wasn't impressed with the tempo, turnovers and poor position from which Dirk was often operating. The Mavs simply got rattled and they had no one on the team who could maintain composure and help them regain their equilibrium.

GS's defense appeared unbreakable in that series, and while it is surprisingly better than I thought, it's not all that.

Mavs should take a gamble on Zach. He is cheap and most teams in the NBA play two powerforwards these days. They should swap Erica for Zach.

Howard is that kind of player. It's not in his game to be selfish, he reached a point were he thought he took enough shots and scored enough points in the first half!!!! I noticed that he didn't want to score after a certine point.

Dirk is a wing in a 7 foot body.

There are benefits to that also.

All was well until they got upset and BEATEN by a team playing better than them.

If I were Dirk I'd take my MVP trophy, my max contract money and go have a nice summer.

He is stupid to change his game.

He should learn a bit of a post up move but these euros type players are fundamentally sound in so many ways I would not try to "americanize" them.

What do we tell dirk, forget the quickness, get fat and be Eddy?

Sorry Marv!

No, The playoff failure is the team game gone bad. Great teams find ways to get the ball in others hands and find a way to win.

For this its evident that Dirk is not the MVP!

But in the regular season he was.

The mavs panicked and tried to play the Warriors game and got out of theirs.

Bad matchup. Sh!t happens. Its hard to win.

Early 70's Bullets could never get around the knicks to get in the finals but one time. They ran into Lou and Oscar and got taken apart.

Frazier had ali.

Knicks and Jazz had Mike and the bulls.

Heat had the knicks (except the "Brawl")

Mavs had warriors.
