Fisher is a role player in the mold of a Robert Horry. He will come through in the clutch, but he is really average at most everything he does, except shooting. Fisher is a guy you want on the court in the 4th quarter to make smart players and hit clutch shots. But he is not carrying your team and certainly is not going to turn an average team into a contender.

of course not, but that is should not be a knock on fisher. what you just described there can be done by only a hand full of players in the league...

I am not knocking Fisher. I think he is a solid player that you would want on any team. I was more disagreeing with your statement that if you replaced Arenas with Fisher the wizards would win as many games. I don't see that happening.

read my last post about this. But arenas is not going to turn an average team into a contender either, and he is not carrying a team anywhere, he hasn't so far. I think with the wizards at the PG position, less would be more, and what I mean by less, is a player who shoots less, but defends more, is more of a leader, the wizards really don't need arenas to score, but that is a different topic for another day..

4949, I base a lot of my desires for the team on what the team needs, NOT what the fans need. A lot of fans wanted Steve Francis, Vin Baker and such and such, and look how that turned out? Derek Fisher would be a nice veteran guard who some of the guys like Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford and Mardy Collins can really look up to.

Guys like Bowen who will play dirty and rip your heart out to win is what most succesful teams need.

Guys like Rodman, Oakley, Bowen want to win. Dirty or not, that is the job and if they get into your head then they are successful.

Is it fair? Is it nice? hell no! But you want guys that will kill to win.

You can add Artest to that too. You should post this in the Artest thread that's going on right now. It seems that half the board doesn't want a guy who will kill to win.

Artest can't handle the pressure either. He plays hard, no doubt, but he can't control his emotions. IN the playoffs, he has a history of melting down. I say no to Artest. He is Mike Tyson "light".

Guys like Horry and Fisher step up in pressure. Ron does not.

Marbury doesn't even get close to meaningful moments.
