I think the Knicks need a Vet player in the front court to go with Curry. The Bulls have two vets on the front court in PJ BRown and Wallace. the Knicks shouldn't hesitate to bring in a star player at the PF position. I highly doubt it will happen but a KG and O'Neil puts them deep into the playoffs. I really like Frye and Lee but if losing them in a trade brings a star like those to the KNicks I will welcome it because the Knicks would still have a good infusion of Youth and veteran leadership. You could lose some of the youth but they can always draft more of it.

Trade opportunities in the nba are usually limited, but I wouldn't trade young talent for players who are about to hit the downside of their careers. If a quality young player was available, who complimented our current players, I think we're deep enough to trade from strength and throw in a pick, to improve our young nucleus.

Yes, because developing nothing but role players is a surefire way to a championship.

The Utah Jazz are doing fine with a team full of so called Role players. The Bulls made it to the 2nd rd, without a superstar.

Quite a twist. The Jazz have Andre Kirilenko, who up until this past year was considered among the top players in the league. He's stepped up big for them in the playoffs. They have Carlos Boozer, who as much as I hate to admit, is moving very close to being among the elite PFs. They have Mehmet Okur who is one of the top centers in the league. They have Deron Williams who has just been great.

The Bulls are a balanced team of stars. Their fourth best player is better than our best player.

And so far, neither one of these teams has won a championship, so how can you use that as evidence!?

(Granted, the Jazz have a good shot of slipping into the WCF, since the Mavs were upset.)

Superstar is a subjective term but the Jazz do have many all-stars. The only player with have with remote potential to be an all-star is one player that Isiah won't even start.

Get the championship and worry about it later. Right now veteran player nearing 30 isn't necessarily the downside of the career. Thats where you have young players in the wing so when the vets game has errode he can step in a fill the spot. Similar to what the Bulls have going on. PJ Brown will be done soon and Ty Thomas can step right in.

You are right - talking about winners in context of NY Knicks is a joke our days.
My point is - this team is bejound fixing and rebuilding
We need to start from scratch. And the recognition of being on the bottom will be nice first step forward.
This team needs fresh air - to many dead-alive characters.

We've been adding young players and in particular guys that can defend and play smart. We have to keep working on this roster until we get it right. If you look at most of the really good teams they've been refining their rosters for a good long while. Chicago didn't just come together all at once. They've been at it for a while. So we've been with this young "Curry Era" group for 2 seasons and the 1st season was wasted by LB. Why do you even consider giving up on a group you've just put together 2 years ago? How do you even know what you have yet?

I think we're on the right track now and that we should keep going. Make changes only when you know what you really have. This will be an important year coming up for some guys. We'll likely learn a lot about them this coming season. That will allow us to make smarter decisions, once we see how things develop.
