Coming soon to a stadium near you. They think Hughes and Clemens will be ready at the same time. They'll keep Hughes at the major league level most likely since he has nothing left to prove in the minors, brought no hit stuff to his last start and couldn't get a better education than the one he'll get for Rocket, Moose, Mo etc. for the rest of the year in the bigs.

That was not about money.

His boy Petitte and a few others matters.

Joe, Brian, and George are all the same. In Boston, its a new owner and GM since he was there.

Here he can be no. 2 starter. Boston he is no. 4.

ANd I gather we gave him more money.

That also matters.

His agent said they didn't reach the point where they even got specific offers from any other team. We probably would have out-bid other teams, but it sounds like he wasn't even interested in what other teams would offer.

B/c we gave him 28 million apparently. Clemens played the Yanks. Apparently doesn't have to join then when he's not pitching. Not sure what the road trip deal is. He says he wants to be a model for the young people, but dude, if you're gonna do that, be a model everyday. Not just on days you're gonna pitch. I hate how people think they owe these athletes special treatment like this. He should have joined them for spring training, and if they were worried about him breaking down, I'm so positive they could have worked something out.
