Boy I re-read this thread and Nixluva is like completely out of it...........LOL.

Yeah you keep thinking the team is holding Marbury back or the team hasn't caught up to him, when it's the team that needs to play and cover for Marburys non-abilties in the point guard/leadership areas.

You'll see it one day Nixluva, Im guessing it's when isiah is fired and Marbury is deported, then you'll be towing what ever line the new guys throw out.

I'd say about 100% of the time he has no clue what he's talking about and really doesn't have a pulse on this team.

I really think Marbury has found his niche and I also think that he truly wants to finish his career here. I can see him taking a pay cut to make the team better as a whole. I like him on the team, I like that he can take over the game when he wants. I don't think Marbs is the problem on this team. Maybe last year with LB, but not this year.

Think of the message Marbs would send to the kids who want to buy his shoes, if he took the vet minimum to stay in NY. We would erect a statue in his honor
I just hope that people will like me

Marbury is not tradeable because he makes 20mil a season. If he was resigned but was making 8-9mil a season instead he would be tradable.

So what really matters is the price he would get resigned for if he was resigned.

LOL, when was this??? When the only passing option was Curry and he couldn't even get him the ball??

It's not really a thought. I think it's a guarantee that Marbury will be looking for an extension and most likely this year as you said. If Marbury can't get one he's going to go back to being Starbury to get his numbers back up as he looks for another payday.

Does anyone think Marbury wants his 8 figure paychecks to stop anytime soon?

And here we have Marbury subliminally asking for an extension by talking about going to Italy in 2yrs. I called this shiiiiiiit. He's trying to see how much he's wanted here in New York. You best believe if they were to contact him and lay the groundwork for an extension which he currently is trying to do with this recent news he'd be more than willing to remain in New York. This is all to warped a guy is thinking about taking his shoes Global in 2yrs instead of focusing on winning here in New York and people wonder why we flip out on the dude. Then again he told us a while ago "IT'S JUST A HOBBY".

I really hope it's true that he wants to go and not some kind of a strange ploy. I would love it... if he goes, I'm calling it, the year after Cancerbury is gone, we're a 50 win team.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This is a ploy. Who would talk about quitting on a team at his age when a team has a possibility to peak or start peaking in 2yrs. The dude wants I SAY UGH and Dolan to discuss an extension any moron can see through this one. Who's Marbury's agent? Does he have one or is he his own?

How much credit can we give you for that one Solace. That's as certain as Death, Breathing, Blinking, and Taxes it's just going to happen and we can't stop it.

So you're saying that Cancerbury, the guy who makes a fool out of himself at every opportunity, has a forward plan to force the Knicks hand into resigning him? With Isiah at the helm, it's possible, yes... but likely? I don't know. Maybe I just so desperately want to believe that Marbury will be gone. You can understand that, can't you?

Oh I understand where you're coming from. I'd carry his luggage to the Airport and pay my own flight to Italy to help unload his luggage if he should happen to leave in 2yrs. I'd be willing to do it now if he'd just leave. His ploy might work. If he's thinking of leaving in 2yrs then I see him becoming more of a STAT WHORE than he's ever been in his career. His number stand the chance to look respectable and as dumb as I SAY UGH is he might fall for it like mid season and extend him. Giving him like a 3yr $30mil dollar deal.

What is considered a paycut form 20+mm? If it was me, his ending contract would be prime bait along with a pick to get a young elite PG.

Briggs, we need to be doing exactly that now. What young elite PG did you have in your mind? Nobody wants to trade their young elite PGs for a pick and Mr. Italy.

Th objective should be to try and move up in the draft next year. Thats why, I'm hopeful that if Isiah is trying to move bodies to clear roster space, hpoefully we get an extra draft pick in a trade. That way, we'll have two picks that we could possibly shop to move up in the draft in June. There will be some pretty good point guards comming out next year.

That's not going to happen. Did you read the Post's article today? He knows they don't want to sign him.

Its called 'Tank it'. We should pray that Marbury can't play- tendanitis, something non-lethal- so we can go full force with collins, nate & crawford as the PG- with a heavy does of Nichols & Chandler-

Develop that youth and end up in the lottery. And with a little Stern Magic- viola, top pick.

Stern Magic? Dude, we've been begging for Stern Magic for years now and I think he's proven he's not going to favor us which is what he's supposed to be doing anyway. We have to make our own Magic.

Actually, that Marbury being injured thing isn't so out of whack. Not saying I hope it happens, b/c I don't, but if he's out of shape AND his body is breaking down, it's just begging for him to have a big injury. He might not even last the next two years, let alone play in Italy when his contract is over.

The top prospects right now are all wing players too
Not sure what this team even needs anymore. There's no holes, you just have to hope that everyone plays up to potential.

If Steph will play hard and commit to defense he will definitely broke in 2-3 month.
If he will go back to his old style he can survive much longer and may be leave something for Italy.
