I would love to get rid of Marbury. He'd be the first option to go. But I was trying to be a little more realistic. Isiah still has a lot of stake in Marbury, so the better question is... do you think Isiah would trade Marbury? Hell, right now I'd bet that Marbury gets a 4+ year extension. I wish it weren't true, but with Isiah in that spot I can't see it not being.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

There is absolutely NO RATIONALE for wanting to trade Steph. Nothing that he's done would justify such a move. I also hate the inference that he's a negative influence on Nate. Nate was this way BEFORE he ever got to the Knicks. Steph is a pro and he's a hard worker. Steph has been a positive influence on other Knick players including Lee who he took under his wing last year and convinced to keep shooting and working on his shot. Steph stepped up his game this year and by his actions that alone should've been motivation for Nate to play hard on D. So we can't lay that at Steph's feet if Nate is more flash than substance from time to time. So let's be fair here in this regard. Steph played hurt for us 2 years in a row and he really played his butt off this year when we needed him. Those that want to bash him for being more aggressive aren't paying attention. HE was ASKED to lay that way in order to give us a fighting chance. Before that he had settled into a role as a facilitator and only looked to score when it was necessary. He finally found a groove in Isiah's system. Let's not totally forget that fact. If he plays that exact same way next year which I believe he will we'll be in good shape.

I don't believe you believe the stuff you type. There is nothing but reasons to get rid of Mebury.

And I know you'll never answer honestly, but can you really look at a Guy like Baron Davis doing what he is doing on the bigest stage against the best team in basketball and still claim that this is what a team under the "wing" of a great point guard is suppose to look like??? Keep in mind Baron Davis himself missed 26 games and the warriors are a 500 team. So do you really believe a former allstar, pointguards team is suppose to look like this??? Counting on role players to close out uarters and games, always getting blown out in the first and third quarters after just being with the damn coach going over the game plan?????

With talent around him, in his home town, with his BFF Head coach also as the GM and main crash dummy taking every single bullet thrown at the team. In his perfect system with teammates that produce, you really believe this is how things should be??? Marbury having everything to prove to the world, Isiah, Brown and himself....... 33 wins is how things are suppose to be????

I'm going to answer for you, THIS IS NOT HOW A TEAM IS SUPPOSE TO LOOK WITH ALL THOSE THINGS HAPPENING. Marbury is a cancer.

Nix, you can't seriously believe that. We've been over this a bunch of times. What the players need is a LEADER. What kind of leader cheers on his teammates when they're mediocre, and meanwhile says some of the dumb things he says. He faciliates the losing attitude and is a cancer. Yes, he influences Nate. Yes, he influences Curry. Yes, he's the main reason why Steve Francis is completely failing here, injuries aside. Yes, every team he's on flounders horribly. Yes, every team he's on has locker room problems. Yes, every team that has gotten rid of him has had much more unity the moment he was gone. What's not to understand? He's a walking problem. He finally tried for Isiah after 11 years... he has a long way to go, though. The damage he's done for Curry may already be irreversible.

Let's forget about what Steph's done INDIVIDUALLY on the COURT. His influence is what he hasn't done FOR THE TEAM on the court, and what damage he does in the locker room.

I think trade Steph and a lot of the problems get fixed. HOWEVER, I know the odds of Steph going are nearly 0%, as him and Isiah are in lurve. So if we have to keep him, fine. Then, you MUST get rid of all of the other negative influences to the team. Especially, if you want to bring in a kid with questionable attitude like Williams. There's no other options but to be very thorough about what types of personalities we have on the team. We need to REMOVE the losing attitude. Steph is the biggest violator.

Frankly, if I were GM, my moves would be as follows:

Trade/Waive if unable to trade: Steph, Francis, Jeffries, James
Trade: Frye, Nate, Curry

I'd look to get back a tall agile center like Bynum from the Lakers... which may be possible in the right deal. I'd look to draft a shooter and then two way players that compliment the team we're building. And I'd, FOR ONCE, accept the actual rebuilding process which means your team sucks, very young AND you get to keep your own high picks.

But Isiah and Dolan would never go for it.
