Jared Jack was the selection to make there a heady pg that proved to be a leader and played solid defense to make up for marbury and crawford, not a hot shot that just wants to promote himself

I'm only gonna post nbadraft.net for now.

At 23, they have isiah drafting Josh Mcroberts. I don't think there is a chance in hell isiah picks him unless he proves himself in the draft camps. Can the guy get over himself and play with the pros? Is he a 4 or a 3?

Well the rest of the remaining projected 1st rounders in order are:
Rudy Fernandez
Javaris crittenton
Arron afflalo
Marcus Williams
Morris "everyones favorite hard on" almond
Marcus wiliams
Alando Tucker
Arron Gray

Out of that group who would you draft at 23?

Alando Tucker just jumps out at me as a dude isiah would go for.

Brandon rush declared do he could go somewhere here too.

I think people will be shocked when they see Almond in SL for whatever team picks him. He was doubled and tripled all year--when he gets to go 1-1 with more space in an up down tempo--you will see why Im high on him. If you watch the suns last night--you are watching where basketball is going. We did nOT have the % shooters last year--we looked GOOD when guys like Q craw SM and nate hit shots--when you make shots you create space for lanes and the post. We have NO clue when IF Q Rich will ever be the same. I get scared when I hear balkman at 2 guard with mardy collins? exactly who shoots the ball--other teams can get hip to that like they did for frye---next year mardy is going to have to prove the J more. We need a true shooter scorer with size. The NBA isnt about stopping the other guy anymore--its about making the OTHER guy STOP YOU.

This name hasn't been thrown out there but im high on the guy. The guy can pass, score, and knock down 3's. He was voted ACC player of the Year plus he's a very polished college player after remaining in school for all 4 years. This guy gives the Knicks everything they are missing at the small forward position. He's not some raw athletic player i.e. Balkman nor is he just flat out garbage i.e Jared Jefferies. The Knicks should absolutely draft Jared Dudley out of Boston College. He's got a great size at 6'7 which is a legit height for the small forward spot. A lot of people over look him because he's not jumping through the roof and is not finishing breaks with windmill dunks but to me I much rather take a guy with NBA-ready skills as oppossed to taking a guy who might or might not develop the other facets of his game.

I know Isiah probably would never draft him but I would definetly like to see him on the Knicks.

Jared Dudley is a damn good player. He knows the game and knows how to play his position. I would love to draft him, but chances are he is gonna fall into the second round. He is an active guy that talks a lot on the court and doesn't backdown. His energy and motor fit right into the mix with Lee and balkman.

I enjoyed watching him play. The Boston college point guard he ran with was good too along with the other fwd they have. Sorry I can't get their names.

I wish the dude luck.

Isiah seems to have this heroes complex, where he wants to draft these players higher than any scouts projection. That way, if these players pan out (Balkman, Lee) Isiah gets dubbed as a great drafter with an eye for talent.

With that said, I get the sneaking suspicion that he is going to take Rodney Stuckey the 6'4 combo guard (if he's still there). He's the type of player Isiah loves. High scorer, can play some point and the 2, high energy etc...

I don't think its about isiah being a hero. He just picked the guys he wanted as far as Collins and balkman last year and the dudes he got the year before.

I'm thinking I would like to see Byars............. to me from week to week it's race btween Byars and Almonds in my head. Byars looks like a Josh Howard clone when you see him, Im leaning towards him.(right now)

Byars reminds me of a less athletic Qyntel Woods. He's not very good at anything.

I don't think that's fair, because the reason Qwoods isn't in the NBA is because he had a ten Cent head. I don't think you can say that about Byars.

hey i love jared dudley as much as the next guy/bc fan but i just don't think the knicks need him. as briggs pointed out, WHO IS STROKING THE ROCK for these guys next yr? you can't tell me 'q' with a straight face, he's had chronic back problems for three years now. other than that, there's nobody. dudley is an alright shooter but check almond's #'s.

and don't tell me almond is some 'hyped small school player' because every team in the nba right now would like to add a kevin martin type small school player. the last 3 yrs almond has shot 45% from 3 point range. 45% for 3 straight years! plus he has prototypical 2 guard size and a sweet stroke, http://youtube.com/watch?v=xxABT1q1V4I

almond must be the pick. to me a 2-way player doesn't matter with collins and balkman bringing that defensive mindset. the knicks NEED shooters.

and eny, the BC point you were talking about is tyrese rice. dude broke JJ redick's HS 3 point record. character issues though, has 2 kids already and he's not even 20. i think hes headed back to BC.

The position the Knicks are most desperate at is the small forward position. We can talk all day about Q or Balkman but both of those guys are iffy. Its a given now that Q is probably only going to be able to play about 50 to 60 games due to his back. Balkman he may get a jump shot this summer he may not and if we have a chance to add a skilled legit small forward the Knicks need to do it asap! Marbury and Crawford as long as Isiah is coach are always going to receive the majority of the minutes. The small forward with all the great small forwards in the leauge you need to have guys out there who can do it all around. Ball-handle, outside shots, rebound, and defend. I think Dudley does at least 3 of those 4 skills very well.

reality check:

quentin richardson, signed through 2010.
jared jeffries, signed through 2011 (!!!!!!)
renaldo balkman, rookie.
david lee, 2nd yr player also can play SF>

this is the knicks most dying need? are you kidding me?

the knicks need a shooter more than anything else bitty, they have 2 SFs locked up until the next decade and two other players who can play the 3 (one primarily, one can shift there and play minutes) and you think the knicks need dudley? come on dude, i go to bc and am as big of a bc homer as you can get, the knicks don't need jared dudley. they need a shooter to open **** up for eddy curry.

If almond is so good he is not gonna fall to 23.

Jared Dudley will be there at 23 and probably will still be around by the 2nd round.

So the knicks need a shooter? The knicks currently have 5 guards, 6 if you add Q. Drafting a "shooter" would bring that number to 6-7.

Q is the reason the knicks need a small fwd. When that mofo breaks down again the knicks have jefferies and balkman. Lee could play 3 but he is better at the 4.

Jared Dudley isn't Adrian dantley, he is just a dude that can play that wil be available at 23.

Bigsmooth first untangle your boxer shorts. Now let me see if im following your logic. A team should only draft for positions only if there are no players at that position how hold long-term contracts? Of course you say this all without taking into account Q's chronic injury problems and Jared Jefferies general suckiness.

Similar to what Enyspree said we're talking about drafting a guy not signing him for 100 million dollars or trading away our starting 5 to get him. He's a guy who has substantial skill and will most likely be available to the Knicks now please take a deep breath.
