In your opinion, should n8 the gr8 be trade b8?

My opinion on N8, is i love his three point shot, i love his drives to the hoop, and i like his potential to be a pesky defender (although he is not one now). He can shoot, and he can create ways to score. For this, I am not ready to just give him away. But he averages one assist per game so he is not a starting PG. At most he is a backup combo guard, although one who can put up points in a hurry. With the emergence of Collins, and due to the enormous contracts of Craw, Marb and Fran will N8 even play much here? Should we trade Crawford or Marbury to make room for N8, or should we trade N8?

Kinsey is fine. He's a SC player like Balkman. But giving up N8 for a #2 makes no sense. I think you package N8 with a contract for a player.

I'd rather move Marbury though. Let Collins and Craw be our backcourt. And have N8 energize off the bench. And waive Francis.

can collins + craw + nate backcourt, along with a frye + lee + curry (young frontcourt) expect to make the playoffs without good veteran players around them?

I do believe there is a good chance that Nate and Frye will be packaged together...PF? We certainly are going to need one. Francis is going to be bought out.

Isiah is going to start Marbury, Jamal, Q, Curry...PF TBD or Lee will start.

Mardy Collins is not going to start for this team. Personally, I think his stats were inflated due to the overall ineptitude of the team in last month (we went 2-7 with Mardy starting...yes he is a rookie but Isiah is going to look for the same team that had "success" during most of the season.)

Mardy may have gotten better but there is ZERO chance that Isiah will start him. Maybe when Marbs is done. But for now, esp with Curry on this team, Jamal is going to start and Q will play SF (these are the two guys that CURRY plays best with plus we allegedly building a team around him)

PLUS, if Mardy is so great, why dont we use him as trade bait to try and get something. Surely since all of you noticed his abilities- I am sure scouts from other teams have noticed as well.

Mardy didn't play enough games with a determined line-up to be effectively evaluated although there probably is mild interest. This team either needs to be busted up or Curry needs to be traded. We can't bring back this same squad and expect to win.

I don't think any of us thought for a second Isiah would start Mardy. We know where his priorities lie.

No no no... N8 is definitly not a throw-in. Forget the basketball court for a second, he's got gate appeal, young fan appeal for merchandising. Maybe the Knick franchise doesn't need the help from N8 on or off the court but you'd be a business idiot to deal him for a #2 (unless its the 31st pick in a deep draft) or as a throw in.

working along this premise, it would appear to me that you would have to look to trade him to teams that have the philosophy of gate $'s first, then championships. so, you have us - but he is already here, so that doesnt work...

so, who else? atlanta?, portland? or seattle? - that would work best b/c he is from there. did i leave anyone out?

Then there is no reason for anyone to believe that Mardy can start for this team. If he can't be effectively evaluated by pro scouts then certainly fans should likely see it this way as well.

I agree with you. BUT...I think Isiah's rationale is as such...

The team's winning percentage increased each month...prior to the injuries and after he settled on a starting line-up, which was pretty much after the brawl)...this is what he saw:

From 11/1 to 12/2 : Knicks had a 6-13 record (1-7 home and 5-6 on the road)…win % .316

From 12/4 to 2/26: Knicks record was 20-19 games (15-5 home and 5-15 away)…win% .513

POST INJURIES: 7-16

5-9 in March.
2-7 in April.

Our scoring dipped tremendously, we went from #1 and #2 in rebounds to #6, our FT shooting % plummeted.

November (6-11 record)

You are right, Mou. Nate would be a throw-in. Maybe the exceptions are Portland and Seattle...Portland is close to Seattle plus you have the Brandon Roy- UW connection.

if the reason we didn't hit 38-40 wins this year was injury, then living in an ideal bubble world of no injuries next season, we will once again be around 41 wins or so. if he is the gm and supposed to know this team and what it's capable of, why return with the same unit and peak out around .500? why not be proactive and make a change to be better than .500?

When you're capable of removing yourself from the injury conundrum let's talk, otherwise you're just a what if fan.

Or how about you do a similar breakdown of GSW injuries in a tougher division and conference and explain to us how they managed to get in the playoffs and now are looking to do damage!

Queenie, can you figure out the Knicks opposing team's winning pct at the time they played them each month? Specifically during that glorious 12/4 to 2/26 run.

Because, if the Knicks were just taking advantage of the easiest part of their schedule, then their record during that time period wouldn't be nearly as impressive as people are trying to make it seem.

In all honesty she doesn't need to because the NBA Ratings Percentage Index had the Knicks ranked with the 23rd easiest schedule in all of basketball.

Nate has proven he can be a serious 7th man type of player off the bench who can provide instant energy and scoring. He plays with heart and his D will only get better. He wouldve been MUCH MUCH better for Phoenix than spening 20mm on Marcus Banks because he can really shoot the 3 @ a 40% clip and get up and down.

Now after carefully looking at our roster--I think I would go the way of the bigger player--I really want Almond--potentially setting up a Collins Almond Backcourt for the future[both guys are 6-6] The way to cut down on so many open 3s is
A. Stop doubling down so much
B. Find perimeter players with long arms/big bodies who also have good athletic ability
C. Find atleast 1 interior deterrant

I would NOT trade Nate for the sake of trading nate--that is dumb--he's shown way to much ability to be a throw in. It would have to bring back a tangible asset--if that was a pick--it would have to be a player IT really wanted. If that was a sean williams--it might make sense for the Knicks--something likt that. But why trade him for less?

^^^ With youds two........... Nate can be a sixth man winner in the NBa.

Isiah has watched Nate, on nothing but instinct, carry this team for quarters/halfs down the strench offensely without destoring the continuity of the offense(like Francis), while making big time 3's in the fourth quarter. He is just going to trade him for nothing????

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

????, Nate needs to be traded all he is a side show circus act. Lets be realistic we want championships and a 5'7'' player isn't gonna bring a championship. He is a scorer and he is a defensive liability he is no Muggsy Bogues he doesn't have the heart to play defense like Muggsy. His antics on the court just plain sucks, he doesn't want to listen to his mentors or anyone and wants to do things his way. The lack of height will always rear it ugly head more often than not. He is more a sg than a pg and that aspect is evident by his lack of play making ability. The Knicks would be better suited to get a legit sg preferably a 6'6'' player in the draft to go with the future of the Knicks Mardy.

I don't know why people hate Nate so much.
Only way I can put it is Leandro Barbosa getting PPG 18.1 on 48.6 FG% and 3P%.492, just earned him 6th man of the year playing 33 minutes per game. Nate Robinson getting 33 minutes per game in the month April just put up PPG 17.1 on 45.2% and 3P% .463 from behind the line. And this team plays NOTHING like the suns and actually only broke 100 once in that whole damn month if Im correct. LOL

Why do people have to go strate to the propaganda like this is a scene from Brave New World???
He's a circus, he's a side show, he doesn't have heart............ NO he is a 22 year old sophomore who is on a rooki million dollar contract and pound for pound the most prolificate scorer on the Knicks. That's what we have to trade??? For what a 6foot bum that is a product of alot of things the knicks don't have??? SMH........ it's a joke.
