Yea GS isn't going to be coming out of the Western Conference anytime soon. However with that being said they are significantly much better than the Knicks particularly if there healthy. The killed in the Indiana deal and please can somone tell me the last time Isiah got the better end of a deal?

If your JO, what are you thinking about your GM & your future in Indiana when GS is still playing, thanks in large part to some of your former team mates?

Could you imagine if the Knicks missed the playoffs for 13 straight years? Yeah, "organizational leadership" at its finest.

Anyway, most reasonable fans call Golden State for what they are --- they have a fun style and .

Listening to "Knicks fans" talk, one would think that the Warriors are the second coming.

Funny to hear "Knicks fans" rip Zeke and in a roundabout way praise Mullin. Mullin has been as maligned as anyone. Perhaps Oakland needs more fans frothing at the mouth and waxing obnoxious.

SMH.

--->a few good parts, but ultimately its a team with salary cap issues and little roster upside

????? The same thing could be said for the Knicks? except we have double+ the salary cap if the knicks were in the western conference--how many years until we make the playoffs? I think GS gets some credit--they did beat Dallas 4 times --made the playoffs in the west DESPITE MASSIVE injury problems[no complaints there?] and look to have a serious core that is playing well NOW? and should get better quickly? And were praisng a team that is banking on a combination of jefferies and Frye as major hogs the best 33 win team ever assembled???? we have soem nice parts--so do a lot of teams.

Man Bitty, would you please stop with this talk of GS being "significantly better" than us. Thats just not true no matter what subjective or skewed analysis you're using.

The Indiana trade is a good point. Mullin was able to move Dunleavy, who is about as unattractive of a player as you'll find in the league, and bring back solid players. I dont see why Zeke cant do the same, and to me the Knicks are a solid draft/and or trade away from being a contender. Especially in the (L)East. Perhaps us "Knicks fans" should concentrate on that instead of rooting for the Bulls in the draft and screaming about how hopeless are situation is.

Sure, on that end of things, fair. GS got Baron Davis for an expiring deal and Speedy Claxton. No 4+ draft picks included. They definitely beat Indiana in the trade they made with them by a nice margin. Recently, their trades have looked good. That's two big wins for them, where Isiah has NEVER won a trade even though he's made a lot of them since he's been here. The closest is KT for Q and Nate, which would be a win if Q didn't have his back injuries. I'll take quality over quantity any day. As for GS, a few earlier moves going differently and they might've been a respectable team a lot sooner. I guess if you want to make a team comparison, the Knicks are a poor-man's Golden State Warriors. Not the highest compliment.

This is the problem. You see GS's success with finding a way to get rid of an unattractive player and you think Zeke can do it too. Based on WHAT? He's not done it in 3+ years. Every trade leaves us feeling raped. Every signing is a waste. The only thing Zeke has succeeded on at all in his time here is drafting. Why do we expect Zeke to suddenly make a good f'n trade for once? That's like expecting Eddy Curry to play defense. Without a mentality change, it won't happen and it's just too optimistic to EXPECT it to happen. Is anything possible? Sure, why not? Zeke can make a good trade... and pigs can fly. I'm not convinced which will happen first yet.

One more addendum to this. Part of the trade from Indiana's side was they wanted good personalities. Guess what? That has value in the NBA. They traded away a complete and utter thug in Stephen Jackson and got Dunleavy. See, even a lame player like Dunleavy has value because of positive attitude. You think people will take the players who are lame on the Knicks AND have poor attitudes? Nope.

golden state goes as bdiddy goes.

this is his 8th season in the league and 6th time in the playoffs. he has advanced in the playoffs too. so the major question mark with him has been health. he misses on average 30 games a season the past few years. so that's why golden state drafted monta ellis as insurance for the times he goes down.

but when he's healthy, his teams make the playoffs. no questions asked.

what's GREAT about this series is that don nelson already outcoached avery johnson before the game even started. i was on the phone with a friend of mine and when they announced the starting lineups, and i saw avery changed theirs, i was laughing b/c the teacher just schooled the pupil. nelson knows how to coach against those players and he has his team playing with a "who gives a f ck" attitude. they are a dangerous matchup for dallas.

and mullin just finished his 3rd year with golden state. they just made the playoffs and just beat the #1 seed on the road in their first playoff game in 13 years. if i'm a golden state fan, i'm doing cartwheels right now.

We don't have the Horse Offensively to make Matt Barns look good..... who cares thought, IZAYPOOH ZUCKS!!!!!!

Player for player, GS is no better than the Knicks when it comes to talent. It's the coaching and organizational leadership where the difference is made.

Compared to this year or last years team??? Last year Curry averaged 14 ppgs, Davis was the starting four, Lee was a back up small forward, Q was averaging 8 points ppg and Mebury was falling apart. That is the team Matt Barns started on.

GState has a chance because Baron Davis is probably the best player on the court. Dirk is soft!!!
If Dirk is soft, then what's Curry?

LOL, I guess he is soft too, KURRIE ZUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

SMH..........

Truth hurts, doesn't it? What's bad is you can knock the best player on the best team in the league and call him soft, then take offense to criticism of a lazy one-dimensional center on a 33 win team. Can we say LOL?

YOu can also say Rofl too.
Doesn't change the fact that Dirk is soft. Which is way funnier that you guys take offense to the best player on the best team in basketball doing a channing frye impersonation in game one to the 8th seed being called that, soft, on a team you don't even root for. Then feeling the need to bring up Curry. Can we say SMH???? Is this keyboard on??

The point I was trying to highlight is the disparity in how the two teams are interpreted here on this board. The Warriors have "organizational leadership" despite the gap between playoff appearances and their flawed roster. The Knicks have an unmanageable situation and anyone who thinks otherwise is somehow a hopeless romantic or an Isiah groupie. So I'm supposed to believe that there is THAT big of a divide between the Warriors and Knicks?

I guess its just comical the way everyone is all breathless and choked up over the Warriors around here.

I highlighted the key point there. One game. If Dirk pulls an A-Rod for the series, then your point makes a lot more sense.

Question who just won the first game of a playoff series against the best team in the NBA? Yet you still want to make a case for a team that lost 49 games being better.

See I think your problem is that you may focus on the Knicks too much. Only a true disillusioned Knick fan would believe this 49 loss team is one draft or trade away from being a contender.

Or being knicks fans you could careless about a jump shooting PowerForward on the Mavs getting pushed around by small forwards and shooting guards.... either or could work though.

Anji, the point you miss is that it's one game and Mavs fans aren't sitting there complaining about Dirk. If not for Dirk, they're not the best team in the league. Comparing it to the Knicks is retarted. They're good, we're not. As for pushed around... dude, it's one game. I don't really see your point, if there even is one.

I just think its amusing that Barnes, Ariza and Woods are all better players that Jefferies who would have cost 1 million.

GS has better players yes, but they also missed richardson for most of the year, davis for a while and they didn't have murphy the first portion of the year before the trade/

Marbury and Curry are in Isiahs eyes our two best players who were there the entire season and we were still a disgrace. And I have never heard someone bring up injuries like Crawford is this great player, you can find 20 guards that do the same thing without plahing defense. Isiah has not spent his money wisely if your still playing with 100 million in talent you should make the playoffs in the east.

There is no difference between us and the magic as far as talent.

"raped". Com'n now. Zeke's trades have been lateral for the most part, and thats avoiding being argumentative. Go check Mullin's track record and tell me if he would have inspired any sort of faith to make a good deal.

I dont know what you're getting at with some of the comments in your post. So there isnt anybody on the Knicks that possesses a positive attitude? Frye is positive and cheap. Murphy and Dunleavy had horrible contracts (per Mullin) and they were moved. Period.

This pessimism is blinding I guess. Despite his mistakes, Zeke is a smart and aggressive guy.

Lateral?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You can't really believe that Zeke's trades have been lateral. That's too ridiculous to even respond to other than asking you to review his trade history. Anyway, if you were talking about trading Frye, fine. I wasn't considering Frye an unattractive player, because he has a small contract, and anyone with a small contract can be traded. How about Jerome James? You think he's movable? Steve Francis? Jared Jeffries? These are the guys we need to rid ourselves of. Frye, Nate, etc... are tradeable... BECAUSE they're in their first contract.
