i'd trade Malik, Frye & Nate for Artest at this point if SAC would be willing to do it... Nate's a headcase as it is, & Frye's as soft as they come... it's a big risk to give up 2 talented young players for a guy who could be expelled from the league w/another big blowup like he had in the brawl, but at this point, i'd have to do it... his contract would come off the books when Marbury comes off, so at that point if you need to, you can start fresh w/a clean slate & a ton of salary coming off the books the same season in Marbury, Francis & co... at this point, there's really no viable trade options for either of those guys, & Isiah's not likely to be trading Marbury regardless if there was or not... Malik's contract runs the same length as Artest's, so neither team would be taking on any excess cap (besides the rookie deals of the 2 young guys).

so w/that, i think you take the plunge & make the deal... you'd still have Lee, Balk, Mardy & Curry as a young core to build on after those veterans leave, so the future wouldn't be mortgaged at all.

if we could unload big-snacks and "the franchise" i may be swayed to take on k-mart. that's a pretty big risk though.

w/the emergence of Balkman i don't think it's as necessary as i used to think it was to go after a player like KMart, but i'd still make that trade if you could unload Turd & Francis.

Let it go. Keep what we have, because we can't get rid of it anyway and see if any of the youngens can pull it out and let certain contracts (starbury, Francis, Jerome, ect.) at least get into the last year and 'then' make some solid trades. The other option is, let the money sit, until a big free agent is on the market.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I would welcome the idea of having k-mart and artest if the knicks could subtract the players you mentioned. Thing about it, those moves would have to be perfect as nixluva eluded to. Chances are they come to NY and k-mart breaks his leg again and artest gets arrested or does something off the chain that gets him suspended.

Ah baby, k-mart and artest would fit so well with this group. The risk is just too great. Just imagine that group with the way isiah wants curry to post while the rest move the ball and make plays that would just be sick. Instant playoffs and the knicks could beat anyone that's in the playoffs this year with that line-up.

Sigh.

I really found something here. I did! Fantasy basketball. Catch it!
I'll never trust this' team again.

K-mart and artest fill in the blanks well on the video game knicks.

Fantasy basketball. Tell me, does Thomas get fired and does Dolan sell the team in fantasy basketball? Do we get rid of starbury. Even better yet, in fantasy basketball, does starbury get traded to miami for Wade?
I'll never trust this' team again.

K-Mart, his contract runs until 2011!!! And he is not worth $15 mil!!!

Yeah, but at the same time, starbury is worth about 18 mil. right?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Kenyon Martin? In a NYK jersey? Hell no.

Haven't we already learned our lesson about trading for broken-down Denver power forwards?

Haven't we learned yet not' to go get any player who is halfway out the door? Jerome and Francis to name a few. How about when we got Mutombo and Malik and Dice? All halfway out the door, injured, non effective players.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Wasn't Camby a broken down pf too.

Yeah, he was during times we really needed him. The guy was explosive, could jump, rebound and block very effectively. We was and has developed since then into a huge rebounder. But yes, his achilles heel has always' been injuries. He also was a pretty good boxer also. He knocked Jeff Van Gundy out and left him looking like a racoon the next day. Van Gundy was one of the very few who had brain enough to leave. It wasn't about the money, it was about winning, it was about pride. Today it's all' about the money and nothing but hype, with nothing to show for it.
I'll never trust this' team again.
