That's wonderful! I mean it's great on a personal basis. I'm glad he's doing something great, at least on a personal level. May shatter all of his own records. It's just ironic that now that he's really doing something big for himself, as a Yankee, the team hit the cellar. Don't you find that funny? And don't get so panicky, the season is still very, very young. it practically just started. He's looking good though, I'll admit that one. Maybe he can finally carry that over into the playoffs, if we're still not in the basement by then.

It's just ironic that now that he's really doing something big for himself, as a Yankee, the team hit the cellar.

what i find funny is the fact that you're getting on his case for having 1 of the most historic season's in history during a time when our starting pitching staff looks like ASS... take ARod out of the lineup this season & the Yankees would have a much worse record than they have right now... you say you're a longtime diehard Yankee fan & yet can't appreciate having this guy on your team... that's pretty funny to me.

I'm being nice. Usually I been pretty brutal over his playoff performance. Take what you can. Again, I'm glad for him. He's failed for us three years in a row, since he's got here and he's finally doing something unique. All I'm saying is 'it's ironic that the team has turned south, just when he's getting heated'. Funny how it works out that way sometimes. I'm not on his case.

you know who else has failed us for 3 years in a row in the postseason? Mike Mussina, Randy Johnson (was here for only 2) and most of all Joe Torre... i don't hear you bashing any of those guys, but it seems you're so ready & willing to put all the blame on ARod for not coming through in the clutch... i guess that series he had in the ALDS vs. the Twins didn't count... who cares that he won an MVP & helped to carry the team to the postseason to begin with the next season... all that counts is that he hasn't yet played in the WS for us, or that he hasn't had that Aaron Boone moment to clinch an AL championship... if that's the standard, you need to start listing a whole lot more current & former Yankees on your list.

btw, go look up some of the pisspoor postseason #'s that Yankee heroes like Jorge Posada & Tino Martinez have had during their years in a Yankee uniform... ARod's had 3 bad series & 1 great one... who's to say he won't carry this regular season streak right into the postseason this year? look at Barry Bonds & what his career postseason #'s were before he helped carry that team to the WS in '02... all it takes is 1 hot series & all of a sudden a player becomes "clutch" in a lot of definitions.

do your own comparisons & tell me who's had the better postseason #'s overall.

I guess no one told you. Johnson's big ass is gone. Same with that other steroid taking loser, who went to Detroit. I'm surprised Giambi is still here. Oh and Mussina? How many times has this guy pitched a solid game and lost because our hitters couldn't score any runs for him! I give him points for those efforts. He litterly would have to pitch shutout after shutout to have gotten those wins. Go look it up.

Keep the managers out of this. You and I know that guys like Stengell, Huggins and McCarthy would be nothing without the Babe, Gehrig, Mantle, Dimaggio, Berra, Ford and the many other stars we have had on this team over the years.

And excuse me. Pasada, Martinez have rings' on they're fingers! Yes?

as for Moose Mussina, he hasn't helped this team win any rings either last time i checked... Yankees paid him a ton of money during his time here too... this year he's collecting $11 mil to sit on the DL... nice signing that was.

no one loved Tino more than me, but the guy was crap in a lot of postseason series... what saves him in Yankee fans' eyes is the fact that he hit 2 of the biggest HR's in recent memory ('98 GS vs. SD & '01 WS game 4 vs. ARI)... who's to say ARod won't come through w/1 of those hits this postseason? the fact that Tino & Jorge have rings means they're exempt from criticism for bad postseason individual performances? i guess you'd rather have Aaron Boone over Arod too for that matter... he was always clutch, right?

This is about A-Rod. And you still have not acknolwedged the fact that he pitched some great games for us, with no offense. That's because you know it and your trying to make excuses by using other people.

Dude? You are living on hope, vs. fact. If and when he finally comes through in the playoffs, I will be the first one to eat my words. I'll even admit to 'you' how wrong I was to diss the big man. Until then, he's done nothing for us, except entertain. Stop fighting with hope and show me the rings!

you still have not acknolwedged the fact that he pitched some great games for us, with no offense.

he's pitched more than his fair share of crappy games for us in big spots if you check the #'s... i've never been overly impressed w/Mussina's contributions while he's been a Yankee... he had 2 shining moments in the postseason (the Jeter flip game vs. OAK & the relief innings he pitched in the '03 ALCS)... he's blown more games than that IMO, including last season when he couldn't hold a lead in a pivotal game 3 vs. the Tigers... i'm not trying to make excuses for ARod... just questioning why you're putting the onus on him & ignoring other highly paid members of the team over the years.

no, i'm just relating the facts to u & telling u that you can't judge a player after 4 postseason series, 1 of which was great & 3 which were horrible... plenty of other "heroes" have had a much worse stretch of postseason performances... the rings argument is thin unless you're talking about guys like Jeter & Mo, who are historically clutch performers in the biggest games consistently... it takes a lot of luck to win a WS sometimes... if not for a little kid in the RF bleechers in '96 Jeter might not have even had a chance to win 1 of the ones he's got... plus it sorta helped that those teams had great starting rotations every year they won those championships... i guess Don Mattingly was garbage in your eyes cuz he doesn't have any rings... who cares that he hit over .400 in the 1 postseason series he ever played, right? ALDS doesn't mean anything.

There you go again! Trying to find excuses, by using others to defend A-Rod. Guys like Sojo are usually lucky enough to be around for the ride. But he's had his moments also and he made the most of them.

k, now ur taking it to a lower level... u sound like a 12 year old in the bleechers right now... ARod's #'s while he was in SEA in the postseason are stellar... u want to make him out to be some quintessential choker in big spots, but that's just not the case... he's had 3 horrible postseason series in a row, but before those his #'s are fantastic... but don't take my word for it, 'go look it up' as u like to say.
