At this point in their development, I think Lee is the higher iq player and more fundamentally sound. Lee can be depended on as far as making better decisions whether that means making the right pass or knowing when to shoot. However, Lee was a 4 year player in college and now is in his second year. Balkman on the other hand, left after his third year and is still a rookie.

There can be no doubt that Balkman is a better defender. However, Lee is somewhat undervalued as a defender. He is a smart player that knows where to be on the floor. In comparison to Balkman he has a little less quickness and doesn't have the length that makes Balkman so good on Defense.

They both have a place on this team, especially one that is built around a center like Curry who is a poor defender and bad rebounder. It doesn't matter if one comes off the bench and one starts.

Considering that we probably ruined Lee's career but rushing him out early multiple times when he wasn't healthy... and who knows the extent his injury that 'refuses to heal' now, I'd probably vote for Balkman. At least until we **** that one up too. Worst medical staff in the league or is the owner just making it a mandate to get players back on the court as soon as possible, regardless of injury?
