The reason you don't understand is because you are a hater.

I'm glad that we have Walt to offset the negativity of our announcers that can't see the good. I'm glad that at least WAlt noticed that we played hard for 85% of last nights game.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I agree that Breen is negative and I also stand by the fact that I got on you for caring that he is negative. To be honest your harping on how negative Breen is, is bringing me down. I have enough negativity watching my team go 3-10 and sleep walk through a half(which Walt pointed out as well) to worry about how positive or negative my announcers are.

You have some points. I shouldent let it bother me, honestly. But I just feel like the announcers really influence fans and its just hard enough for me to try and enjoy a game where we are sleepwalking liek you said when i have mike breen all up in my ear lol. Whatever, its all good. i love the knicks either way and there is always the MUTE button!!!

Breen was bad tho! He always takes the side of the officials, but he kind of took it too far to me.

ANYWAY I don't know if this thread was started in jest or what, but since there are some positive posts, i'll add that i'm pleased by Balkman and Collins. I remember arguing that Isiah did the right thing by getting guys that EVERYONE said this team needed. Defensive hustling players who played team ball. It wasn't the sexy or popular pick and even I thought there was a chance he'd take M. Williams, but i undrstood immediately what he was doing and I backed him on that choice, given how poor this team has been defensively. He had to do something to start to change that.

Now we see that these guys are coming along nicely. From what i've seen they both have a chance to improve their shooting. Neither has a stroke as bad as say Jared's shot looks. They need to improve their form and get TONS of reps.

The wife was cracking on Walt because he was getting so frustrated with Breen but wouldn't raise his voice. She kept saying, "yell at the guy and get it over with you pansy".

I think fans, Breen and Walt were all frustrated with our early effort. I think Breen is just the only one that verbalized it. I thought the fans hung in there. I was frustrated as heck and wanted to smash the screen regardless of what the announcers were saying. And when the team went on the run I was jumping up and down and cheering only to go back to wanting to smash the screen later on. I honestly didn't even notice Breen and Walt after a while.

If Breen sides with the officials is that negative? Or opinion?

Breen is Breen. He's straight-laced and buttoned down. He thinks fans want as much attention paid to the officiating crew as the players.

Breen WAS an official and has a tendency to agree with them on everything. He really is biased in that way. He kept harping on how Steph wasn't being fouled and so forth. He's just a tough guy to listen to in that regard. If you watch ANY other broadcast you'll note a fan friendly slant to the announcers. For me Walt provides that aspect, but you expect a guy like Marv or Breen to be more down the middle. That's what you expect in NY. Not pure homers like the Boston announcers or so many other teams I watch.

In regards to the Knicks efforts last night If Steph isn't playing balls to the wall from the start of the game, the team will look flat. WHY? Cuz Frye isn't a high energy guy and Jared isn't an offensive impact player. Then you have Curry who only has energy on one side of the floor. Mardy started last night and he's kind of a slow motion guy. Without Lee and some of the other higher energy guys it can easily look lethargic out there unless Steph brings all the energy. At this point I don't know if he can do that for 48 every night. Bursts may be all he has left since he's had to log so many minutes and play so hard.

Thank GOD for Balkman and his energy!!! That guy along with Lee really gives us that boost. I hope Isiah can find other guys like them.

Anytime someone doesn't agree with your opinion does not mean it's negative. I ask the question again Nixluva why is it okay for you to bash Stevie Francis but if someone has a problem with Marbs or Frye or Balkman or the guys you like they are negative? I just don't understand that. Just accept the opinions and live with it.

Personally I like Balkman and Collins. I think Balkman was a great pick. Every draft your job is to get a player that can contribute. You hope to get the best player avaiable but that is not always posssible. Isiah did a good jbo with both picks. I still don't understand how you build a team if you grab a C and don't find a PG that compliments him but I'm not going to criticize Isiah because I would have gone differently. I'm not going to call him negative because he doesn't agree with my way of building a team.

What I do find negative is people that are okay with a team not giving effort and excuse makers. That in itself drags me down. Preach all you want about the growth of the young guys. I'm on board with that. But making excuses for a team that sleep walks through a half in a must win situation is just denial in my view

I have no problem with any opinion associated with the Knicks. Good or bad. Why does Isles have to agree with Isiah to be a good fan? Why do KNick fans have to applaud 3rd quarter effort without wondering what happened in the rest of the game? This whole topic just confuses me I guess. Start a post about Balkman or Lee etc and it will be positive. Start a post about the team losing a must win game the night before and it will be negative. Why do you guys have such a hard time understanding this concept????? Get over it, it's not going to change until our team starts winning.

You can ask me any question on the planet and I will answer it(something I wish Nixluva would do). Right now concerning the Knicks 42% of what I have to say is positive and 58% is negative. I don't apologize about that. If you ask me a question I will give an honest opinion whether I personally like the person or not. I'm not going to sugarcoat to make myself and others feel better about ourselves. Why? because I'm not a pansy. I'm not going to save my honesty for guys that I hate like STeve Francis and then sugarcoat my opinions about guys I want to stay around, like Balkman and Lee. Likewise I'm not going to kill Francis just because I don't like him and destroy other guys just to join the negative fray. Just be honest!!! If you don't like something say it. If you like something say it. If you do both you will be set free and won't take announcers and others on this website so seriously.

So after you write this paragraph can't you understand why so many fans are frustrated and negative about the team. They don't want low energy guys. This is NY. Fans are tolerant of losing if you give 100% effort. But if you sleepwalk you aren't going to get slack on the messageboards the next day. Taht's life. You have to earn your praise.

In my view Balkman was fantastic and has me excited about his prospects. He made some mistakes down the stretch but I can tolerate it because of the all out effort from beginning to end. But I can't tolerate low energy guys only giving effort when someone asks them to. And I can't beleive that a NYer thinks it's positive to be okay with guys giving effort only when they are pushed or think that it's a good time to. It just shocks and amazes me to be honest.

As for Breen. If he was an official and that is why he leans that way. Instead of getting bent out of shape over it why not just take it for what it is. I know that he harped on it and went overboard. I agree with you there. We got the point in the 1st quarter. But did anyone notice that Walt agreed with him on everything he brought up except for the 'fans not affecting officials topic". Was Walt being negative????

I'm thankful that Jerome boxes out at the buffet table. Keeping Curry away from the left overs.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.
