only way to get into the o'neal discussion is by trading frye AND lee.

and that's something this team should do.

SHOULD?

You would trade Lee and Frye? I'm all for trading frye, but isiah has to hold on to the core of players that are the heart of the team. Maybe I'm too attatched to lee, but I just think the knicks should not delete what works.

Lee, balkman, Collins now? Sheesh man. Right now its kinda hard to trade any of these guys. Even Nate.

yes, i would trade frye + lee for jermaine. the guy is 28, a defender and a perfect compliment to eddy. jermaine still has a good 5 years in him. we are not rebuilding since we will not be under the cap for another 5 years (at least) and we don't have too many of our own #1's coming up (and we will never tank). a starting frontcourt of lee and curry is a defensive seive. we have marbury for 2 more years so you make this deal.

the team is better off going ALL IN instead of this patch job of a rebuild going on now.

you make that deal. then you trade JO and a little extra (whoever - Mardy, whatever) for KG. Or you just trade Frye, Lee, Nate (Dont like him), Francis, for KG straight out.

The big clash here is bird and isiah. Maybe they should play one on one first and the winner gets the better deal.

Bird is just as much a prick as isiah is. Bird will probably demand lee. Bird wants to make an all white starting line-up. Lee, channing, Troy, and dun Jr. All they need is a white point guard at that point and he will get it.

if he is crying about the losing in indy, then wait until he comes here. He will fill a pool with all the tears of frustration and losing and all the other BS that goes on in MSG land...

if we're going to go for broke, mine as well trade Curry, Frye & Francis for JO & go for it... it's clear to me that this team can't have both Marbury & Curry as centerpieces next season... Marbury's game is not amenable to having Curry dominating down low... JO has the ability to play off the pick & roll, so he'd be a much better match to fit Marbury's style IMO... if we're going to stick w/the plan of building around Curry, then we need to focus on Jamal & Mardy getting more minutes on the floor as orchestrators, because those are the only 2 G's on this team who know how to make a low post entry pass... Marbury doesn't have that fundamental ability in his game... he's better off being Starbury because that's what he's good at.

His privleges should be revoked! He is soft on the court, yet he wears a mouth piece, and did you see his track suit in that off the court pick?

Yeah. I'd trade Frye & Lee for Jermaine O'Neal.

We all like Lee a lot, but... you've gotta give something to get something. Jermaine O'Neal is very soft - he gets that overwhelmed facial expression that Chris Webber's been sporting in pressure situations (dating all the way back to the Fab-5 days), he's fairly fragile, and doesn't seem like a clutch player (well, no more clutch than a Patrick Ewing).

However, he'd form a pretty imposing front-line w/ Curry, more imposing than Curry paired with Frye or Lee.

DJ makes a good point Eny....

O'neal is a great upgrade from Lee.

but I have to say....out of the three (Frye, Lee, Nate) I think Robinson is going to have the best NBA career when its all said and done.

here's a question:

would you trade frye + lee to get jermaine to play with eddy?

or would you trade curry to get jermaine to play with frye + lee?

You trade Francis to get JO and tell them that Francis is a LB fav.

Nate has mental problems the team wanted him to seek help, but surprise he refused. Nate has JR Rider written all over him the same mental makeup all he wants to do is make highlight plays, he is not really about winning, just because he gets excited doesn;t necessarily means he is doing it for the right reason, the promotion of nate is a major goal.

And I would never include lee in a deal to get jo, who is breaking down. Lee is progressing just fine and come next year he is averaging 14pts 12rbs 3ass, you don't move that, especially when he makes the game easier for eddy, you can't put jo down on the block with eddy, you think tits is unhappy now wait till oneile is getting 18 shots a night

You trade eddy for oneil you don't trade lee. Indy uses foster a less offensive minded version of david lee, which is the player you put next to the guy

i don't see Nate as the same type of mental makeup as JR Rider... i think Nate's sincere about wanting to win, he just doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing right now... he's struggling w/playing w/in a team concept, but not for lack of wanting to do it IMO... i think in JR's case, he had no desire to be a team player, he was all about himself & himself only, & he didn't think he had to work hard to succeed at this level... he also had anger management issues that caused him to get into trouble w/the law over his college & pro career... a guy like Nate has had to work his butt off just to make it to this level... he wasn't gifted w/all the natural tools & talent as JR was... that guy coulda been like another D Wade if he wanted to... he had all the natural size, ability & talent... just not the desire or work ethic to make it happen... Nate has tremendous athletic ability, but at his size he's had to work twice as hard as other players that are bigger & taller than he is to make it to this level, so i would never question his work ethic... he just needs to learn how to focus... he's got a major case of ADD.
