Frye hasn't been used properly all year IMO. I think Isiah has been so focused on Curry, that he's taken Frye out of the loop. The guy can do more for us than he's doing, but we have to give him some direction and some plays that feature him. Also, since Curry is SO AWFUL at passing the ball, it really takes a guy like Frye out of the picture, cuz as the shot clock winds down and Curry finally get's the ball, get's doubled and has to pass it back out, that leaves very little time and we end up with one of the guards taking a shot or making a drive in desparation. The way this team executes on offense is terrible. As good a shooter as Frye is, he shouldn't go so many possessions and entire games without getting a lot of touches. With a guy like him the more shots the better. We should be MAKING SURE that Frye gets and takes a lot of shots. He should have no conscience about putting it up, but instead he's unsure and we don't allow him to get on a roll, except for the rare game when we keep going to him. That to me is on Isiah. He has to make a point of this, just like he did with Currry.

Good post. I don't think Channing is being utilized properly but I also don't think Isiah has a choice on this. Between Marbs, Curry, Francis and Jamal they all need the ball to be effective. I think Frye is that type of player as well. Unfortunately, only one ball(no this is not a Channing joke). So I think Channing has become lost in an offense taht focuses on those four before it focuses on Channing. This has led to lost confidence. Add to this that this is his only his 2nd year and he is developing. Add to that, that he is naturally a puss and you have a lot of things that contribute to an ineffective season.

I do hope that Isiah starts targeting two way players with natural aggressiveness and intenisty so that we don't have to teach all our guys to be this way.

No offense Nix, but this is where I disagree with the pro-Frye fans - which I used to be one of BTW (I was in favor of Frye with the 8th pick in '05). I guess I agree with the fact that they should be playing much more pick and pop with him and getting him more touches, but bottom line on this guy for me is if you're a young 6'11" C/PF new to the league trying to make a name for yourself you make the most out of your time on the court. YOU MAXIMIZE YOUR POTENTIAL the way guys like Balkman & Lee do. You show you belong. Those guys are keepers. They put their stamp on the game every minute they're out there. YOU KNOW THEY'RE OUT THERE! They don't need shots and touches to be effective - they play like the big boys they are. You see what I'm saying? Unfortunately, this kid Frye doesn't go about his business like that at all.

I remember hearing all this stuff back in the summer about how Frye bulked up and put on more muscle and I got all amped up! I was excited! He did something he needed to do, I remember thinking. Then reality set in as I tuned into one of the first summer-league games where a hobbled Amare Stoudemire (probably playing at about 50% at the time) absolutely killed him. Frye couldn't even deal with Amare in that game. I remember thinking, in addition to how hard Amare played and how determined & serious he went about his business, how utterly soft Frye still was. And you know what, nothing he's done on the court this whole season has changed my mind...

Look, he's got some skills, no doubt, and he seems like a nice kid & a good teammate (I feel bad bashing him all the time) but we need to shop this kid hard this off-season, preferably for an additional 1st rounder in this upcoming draft hopefully in the 15-25 range. And if it takes Nate, Collins, Morris etc... to make that happen so be it. We've got to do this before every other GM in the game discovers what most of us know for a fact already - that this kid is really nothing more than a younger version ofMichael Doleac.

Let this be a lesson to you. Don't get amped up over pre-season hype that is put out there because they want you to get amped up and buy tickets. One day you will learn.

I have to agree Frye is aweful. I think one of the major flaws to his game is a lack of handle. You would have thought that he would have been working on his handle in the off season. But he did nothing but shoot jumpers.

Jefferies is terrible this guy has very little offensive capabilities. I cringe when he goes to the line and he shoots that ugly free throw he make Shaq look like he can give pointers on free throw shooting that how bad he looks at the line. I am confused as to how this guy made the NBA he stinks.

If Marbs goes back to boring Kurt Thomas era pick and roll game, Frye is going to be the leading scorer on the team. Seems like that ship has sailed though. Frye would be better suited on a slow it down team like Houston or Miami. If we use him, he's better off playing the 5 spot for us.

Same deal with Jeff, when he's playing on the wing he looks like he's thinking about how bad he's about to brick the next 3 bomb before the ball is in his hands. When he plays down low, he looks like he might be able to play at this level. He can be valuable to this team, he's just never going to be a main component.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I don't think Frye would do well in a slow it down offense- I think he needs to be in an uptempo ball movement offense like Phoenix. They spread the floor- he'd get open looks all day.

Agreed on Jeffries- when he is at the 3, he is outside and that is not where he should be
