Balkman needs to learn to shoot first before that happens.

This team is definitely going to improve from within but some sources are going to have to come externally.
I just hope that people will like me

How long do we want to wait for some of these guys to decide to play defense? If they give the same pathetic effort next year do we want to wait until the following year, or the year after that. Or do we want to raise the standard and get guys that are prepared to play on both sides of the ball today?

Both sides of the ball is the only way to win. IF we want to improve we need guys that play both sides of the ball. We have too many guys that don't right now. They either have to change this mentality now! Or we need to move on from them. Use their offensive talent to acquire players with less offensive talent but better all-around abilities.

Remember DAllas lost Steve Nash and somehow still stayed on top and is now a title contender. Why? Because one individual does not make a team. A group that can do everything is what makes a contender.

What about a guy like Jason Richardson? He's sounded like a guy that was gone at the trading deadline. Maybe mullen likes craw.

I'm not a Richardson fan. Dunks and highlight reels but no substance for me. I haven't seen enough of him to judge so this is a superficial opinion based on the few Knicks/GS games I've seen. I think we definitely will need to target a PG in the draft/free agency that can run an offense and play some defense. The next step is a big man who's main focus is on the defensive end. Those are the two areas I think need the most. The offseason will give us a better idea of who's available.

Richardson is a solid scorer and an improved 3point shooter. Nelson was running his offense through Richardson earlier in the season (before the big trade) and Richardson looked to be a good passer. But IMO Richardson is only a so-so defender (although he is better than Crawford and Francis). You also have to worry about whether his knee injury is going to be a reoccurring problem.

True. He's playing like a Goddamn rookie out there, not the former all-star PG for Houston. It's astonishing how far his game has slipped.

Never really has slipped. Always has played the same game. Just break your man with a cross over and try to dunk it over people. No jump shot. No passing skills. No defense. He's not a good player.

Yeah, I don't think Stevie's game has changed. I just think he's getting the ball less. In houston it was clear it out for Stevie and Cuttino and let them both shoot 20-25 times a game not really focusing on the team game. Since he's a great one on one player he looked fantastic but there was no substance to what he was doing. His team was still mediocre. I have said for years that "franchise" has never been more than a scoring six man in my view.
