How about tellin Marbs not to shoot 3's unless someone can register an assist by him shooting it? I can only see his logic in shooting a contested 3 with lotsa time on the shot clock as "Hey makes things that much easier if it goes in" and he's been making them lately. Even in best case scenario he'll help the team win the game but it then they aren't learning to play with each other and trust each other with the game on the line.

i have no problem w/Marbs throwing up 3's at the end of the shotclock, but i want him to try his best to get the ball inside each & every time down the floor... & if that's not available, i want him to go to a pick & roll play w/Channing, or try running off a screen or look for a backdoor cutter... i don't him him settling for a 3 pointer just because he sees Curry getting doubled down low.

Marbury is a career .325 3pt shooter and .276 in the playoffs.

What success he's having now is probably more the result of streakiness than anything else, so I personally wouldn't be structuring any sort of game plan around it.

Or is it him accepting his new role? Maybe he's accepting that he can't blow by defenders like he used (at least not under some circumstances) and has been working really hard on his jumpshot?

I think it's unlikely that 4 months work this season would go miles farther than the prior 10+ years. Besides, how much penetrating do you think guys do during practice, warmups and shootarounds?

hmmm. That is a good point. I still think you can improve your jumpshot with 4 months of hard work though. Maybe it's the combination of hard work and a lucky streak.

i watched him carefully last night... he took 2 seconds to look for Eddy downlow on most possessions, but if it wasn't there he'd forget about him completely & then started to toss up 3's like there was no tomorrow.

him shooting 6 of 22 (3 of 12 from 3 pt range) is NOT a recipe for longterm success
