highfivesucka - Yes. Thanks for the scouting report. He looked like he never moved when Pau blew pass by him.

But look at this highlight clip. Dude looks like he has an inside game..

LOL @ the Spanish play by play guy saying "OH! In your FACE!" after the Pau dunk.

i like the fact that he goes up strong w/both hands on dunks, but it looked like he's got a bad habit of bringing the ball down to near his knees before he goes up for a shot, which will probably end up in G's stripping him on a regular basis.

You guys notice the John Sterling type call for Pau's dunk and the hohum call on Jianlian's dunk?

HAHAHA..I noticed that too. He likes to dip into the sauce before going up. He needs to take that out of his repertoire or he will be constantly stripped in the NBA.

I think he would be a great addition with DLee and the Balkster. They would be running up and down the court.

I think people fail to realize that Oden never gets plays run for him and that he is playing with one hand and shots his free throws with his off hand, and still shoots better than tits.

If you put him on the knicks instead of eddy curry this year i think we would already have 37 wins, his defensive impact is going to be unbelievable in the league. I would trade Curry/Frye for him in a heartbeat, and take back a bad contract.

BRIGGS, how far do you see Noah dropping?

He'll go 4-7 no worse. Depends on who wants what how he works out etc..I think he lost a lock on a top 3 pick with his play during the season.

Id bet the Chinese player goes to the Suns--looks like he is taylor made to play in that system.

@3 I think that you have to go for the brick and mortar player Horford--hes strong athletic he can run hit the top of the key jumper great body long arms tough played through pain most of the year big time winner--he's much more athletic and fluid than sheldan williams who was the brick and mortar guy last year--he'll be a better pro.

yup, he'd be a perfect fit on that Suns team... he can run & gun w/Nash, Marion & Amare... that'd be 1 scary fastbreak.

it's unbelievable that the Suns have 2 pretty high 1st round picks this year... these 2 trades have really set them up for a great future (along w/the Marbury trade obviously):

Phoenix receives a 2007 Cleveland first-round pick. (Rajon Rondo trade 062806) (top 10 protected through 2010 and unprotected after) via Boston receives a 2007 Cleveland first-round pick. (Jiri Welsh trade 022405)

Phoenix receives Atlanta's 2007 first round pick (Joe Johnson trade 081905) Protected through 3 in 2007 and no protection in 2008.

The Suns and the Dallas Mavs should create a blueprint on how to create a succesful NBA team.

The Suns and the Dallas Mavs should create a blueprint on how to create a succesful NBA team.

It's easy:

1) Draft well, by having the best scouts, even to the point of being willing to pass on a pick if nobody you really want is available.
2) Find suckers in trades.
3) Wisely manage money as it fits into your long-term plans.
4) Sign or trade for good veterans cheap to support your young talented roster.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

another thing about Yi jianlian is his body. obviously this was the same problem with Yao coming into the league. he's not afraid of contact, part of that is because he stays aggressive going to the basket but part of it is also that he hasn't played 82 games against NBA muscle. when you consider his reckless playing style but that he doesn't have the body for it, it's possible that injury concerns might push him deeper into the 1st round

gotta go with oden. the guy will come in as a much more polished scorer than people expect because his left hand is well developed now. he's already got the defensive instincts and the heart...aside from jordan when is the last time a team won without a great defensive center? heat, spurs, pistons, lakers, rockets, pistons, the list goes on...you need a defensive big man to win it. celtics should take oden because they have gerald green and no big guys, and the grizz should too - imagine a front line of gay, gasol, and oden.

speaking of Gasol, I think Jerry West really did Pau a disservice by not trading him. He's got talent that is wasting away every day. They would have been better trading him away for more picks, shooters, or a point guard, and then go after Oden in the draft, then build around Oden and Rudy Gay. Pau could have immediately had an impact in Chicago, and I feel like some times you just have a responsibility to let a player go somewhere where he can be successful. garnett's situation is similar, but he's getting frustrated up in Minny and is probably looking to opt out

The NBA isn't about catering towards your players, it's about maximizing your assets to build a championship caliber team. It's hard to trade a guy like Pau Gasol midseason, you can be SURE that Jerry West trades him in the summer or on draft day and net himself a bunch of draftpicks as well as a few quality young players, like Loul Deng.
