In terms of Steph, let's remember that he's STILL able to play at a VERY HIGH level. He just turned 30 and guys like Nash and Kidd are still playing well while being older than Steph. Steph seems to have evolved his game so that he knows when to exert himself and how to get rest during games. I believe he's gonna be able to help this team for 3-4 more years. Yes his speed will diminish some and before then we're going to have to address the need at PG, but I believe that will happen. I don't forsee him having to log such heavy minutes again next year.

You need to remember you can't compare Apples to Oranges.

Nash and Kidd play more of a fundamentally sound game, Steph doesn't. Nash and Kidd's game is focused on team play first and always, Steph's is focused on individual play first then whatever else comes next. Steph's game involves far too much athleticism in which as he loses it you'll notice a far more decline. Nash and Kidd are far more conditioned than Steph from the start of the season. Did you know little Steve Nash and of course Kidd are better rebounders than Steph yr in and yr out? They do everything else besides scoring better than Steph. Even with Steph's supposed improved team play his assist totals are totally pathetic, which means he's still trying to go one-on-one too much or disconnecting himself from the scheme for too long of stretches. The only way he can maintain or improve if at all possible is to improve his long distance shooting accuaracy, which he has been lately or surround himself with deadly perimeter players.

nyk, we don't always agree on everything, but u've always been pretty much fair in ur assessments cuz u at least back up what u say with reasonable arguments that aren't obviously clouded with your own personal feelings towards our GM or any 1 of our players... i respect fans like you... i don't respect fans that take potshots at every player on this roster every chance they get just to prove a point that Isiah is a terrible GM in their eyes.

The difference between a lover and a hater

Lover: Every coach firing/hiring, GM firing/hiring, draft pick, free-agent signing, trade, NBDL signing, video showing cool highlights, nice poster, win after a loss, marks a new era. An era which shows that we are finally turning it around. They don't care about anyone but who is in the uniform. If you are a Knick you are the best, we love you and don't ever go away. But once you are traded you are a bumb. We hate you. Everything Knick is great, everything else sucks. The names in the uni's matter as much as the Knicks. They see light at the end of the tunnel, and anyone currently wearing a Knick uni or working in the front office is capable and WILL DEFINITELY TAKE US THERE. How do they know this? Because they are Knicks and every Knick is a success to them.

Realist:Every coach firing/hiring, GM firing/hiring, draft pick, free-agent signing, trade, NBDL signing, video showing cool highlights, nice poster marks the same era of 10 years since Pat left. A realist feels that the names have changed but the moves have stayed the same. That we didn't start this thing when Isiah came here. We started rebuilding the day Pat left and have been miserable failures thus far. A 10 year rebuilding plan is unacceptable to them regardless how many coaches and GM's have been here. They don't give a clean slate everytime their is a firing/hiring, they just simply wonder why we keep firing/hiring and can't find people that fit. They root for the Knicks logo and not for the people in uniform. If you earn your Knicks uni you will be applauded. If you don't, they don't need you. They love the Knicks name above all else. They want all players to succeed but could care less who those players are. They just want success They see light at the end of the tunnel if moves are made that follow their beleifs. IF!

hater: Every coach firing/hiring, GM firing/hiring, draft pick, free-agent signing, trade, NBDL signing, video showing cool highlights, nice poster reminds them of 35 years of misery. The names change but they could care less about the names. They could care less about Isiah, or Layden or Eddie or Dolan. All they care about is what these people have done or will do for their beloved Knicks. They look at the "realists" and "optimists" as naive. They understand what it took to build the 70's title teams. They know what it took to build the Ewing led era. They don't see it now. Some have given up. Some are waitng. Some just don't care. They just will root for the Knicks and wait for baseball.

Hmmmm... well since I'm likely a hater, I probably should take it negatively. In which case, let me also add that a tag team of LeBron, Carmelo and Dwight Howard can easily beat Renald "No O" Balkman in a three-on-one.

(Btw, I've totally been messing with you the last two days, figure you caught on by now. )
