BRIGGS and I think djsunyc has compared Nate to a mini-Wade in the past. While the offensive arsenal is there, I think he is more comparable to JR Rider than anything else. Both are exceptional talents but are more look-at-me-look-at-me type players.

Nate's not a knucklehead off the court the way JR Rider was... he makes some knucklehead plays on the court, but that's more due to his own immaturity than anything else... he means well & he's a good kid overall IMO... he's sorta similar to Ricky Davis in the way they play on the court, very flashy, "look at me" type game, but when they've got their heads in the game, they're both very good supporting role players that are real fun to watch.

Not comparing Nate to JR outside the court but more towards their capabilities in the court. JR's draft interview goes something like "I am telling you right now, I am winning the Slam Dunk competition".

i thought JR Rider had more talent & ability than Nate on the court... he could have been a star player in the NBA, but he let his idiotic off the court behavior run himself right out of the league.

JR Rider did have more ability than Nate and should still be in the league but for the fact that he never matured. It really is ashame because he was a special type player. I don't think Nate is a knucklehead on the level of JR Rider, because I think he is a more grounded person. He just is real immature and arrogant and has an "I know it all already" type of attitude, which most young kids nowadays do have. Hopefully, he will grow out of it.

I'm not down on Nate, I'm just not sure about his role on our team. I would think a bigger, defensive passing PG or a larger defensive SG that can pop the J would be more useful.

I think playing for a coach like larry, and having his joy taken away would have been a good thing, just as it was for jamal when you play for a coach like isiah that doesn't put and strong emphasis on defense and taking care of the ball it lets plays when and do as they choose and i think nate has regressed because of this.

Your trying to tap into this unbelievable skill and although it sucks being broken down and taken apart, once you have done that you can become a complete player. Nate has the tools, but like most knicks doesn't have the brains

man, if Mardy can work on his jumpshot over the offseason, he could fill that role... he's got the size & the defensive instincts already.

I think it's just that he doesn't understand what it takes to win in the NBA. All through college and high school he was able to get away with what he is today. But now he is being asked to round out his game and become more diverse. Which truly means understand the game of basketball instead of simply understanding the game of one on one. But he is resisting, instead thinking people are trying to punish him instead of helping him improve. Kind of like what a teenager does when his parents try to help him. Or like Travis does when I tell him not to pet the cat becasue he will bite him. Travis thinks I'm just trying to keep the cat to myself. But the reality is I'm sick of having to find band aids after vicious cat attacks.

I'm down on Nate when he calls out the fans before the season starts and then starts the season by giving it a black eye with the Brawl followed by constant immaturity. Yes he has above average talent is some areas but he doesn't get free passes for it.

Good point. I guess what I was trying to say is that I don't care about Nate. I have no attachment to him. I don't dislike him. I just don't care, which is probably worse. I'd rather have a less athletic player that is coachable and understands the needs of the team. And fits our backcourt. Let Nate blossom and be a "star" somewhere else. Him blossoming should not be a worry. What we should worry about is having the best fit blossom for our team. I'm just not seeing where he fits on this roster. On a run and gun team yes. But on a team that is pounding it into the post, he just doesn't fit.

As for all his immature acts, he's a kid. They are annoying as heck and I can do without them, but i'm not going to kill him for it.

I spit my morning coffee out when I read about him practicing his half court shots.

The guy is a total clown and will never get it.

Hmmm didn't I say this last year and got killed for it? Even called a racist because of it? Some people must be getting really tired of how often I'm right.

Exactly, his role on this team...well let just say we don't really need him, and if jc and q rich wasn healthy he would be bench.

He's a kid...poor excuse, there are more then 100 players in this league, that are much mature, he's similar to JC and look how long it's taking him to grow up...energy and skill..thats it, and what good is that when you don't know how to utilize it properly

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me that he's better than Kelinna Azubuike who was in the NBDL about 3mos ago.

well in nate's defense the practice does seem to be paying off. remember when he hit those 2 halfcourt shots against milwaukee (although only one counted)

Nobody is going tell you that Foo!!!!!!!!!! Because Kelinna Azubuike plays in NELLY BALL!!!!! IF you have no idea what Nelly Ball.......... well that would be the only way anyone would want to compare stats between a player in that system and to a player not in that system.

Ya'll are nothing but NATEIST!!!!

He hasn't even shown flashes of maturity, at time's he plays under control, but for the most part he's not, and that in it's self is a problem. He's at least 5 years away from being a real guard in this league. He belongs on a Nelly team..All offense.

you could say the same about JC.

I think their are similarities in the two but I think their are a couple things about Craw that keep people from coming down on him. He has shown that he is very coachable. He's never started a brawl. He's never tossed a ball off the backboard for a circus dunk in a 2 pt game..............
