Eddy's deficiencies don't help, but a real PG and a dynamic and creative offense would go a long way towards opening things up for Eddy. There's a reason he's triple teamed and it's not all because he's so strong; it's also because the defense can do it with virtual impunity. The ball moves so slow, and the other options are so few, it's far too easy for the defense to collapse -and then return- before anything significant has occurred.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Switch Eddy and Amare and nothing major in either system changes one bit. But swap Marbury for Nash and both teams radically revise their systems.

I can't really disagree with a lot of what you said. It was, however, somewhat off point. I have no interest in arguing marbury versus nash. I don't know if I agree with the effectiveness of amare versus eddy however. Certainly amare benefits from playing with the best point guard in the game. However, amare possesses skills that Curry does not. He is more athletic. He is more mobile. He possesses a jump shot. Amare is a better finisher. In a system(the context here is the knick team, with very good penetrating guards like marbury, francis, robinson, and crawford, that was not based simply pushing the ball into the center), I think Amare would be in a position possibly even to score more points than Curry does now, at more effective level that Curry does*you need to consider turnovers in this analysis). Obviously this goes to the point that you don't have nash on this team created for other players like you do on the suns(So amare is a better option on this team than that one).

Additionally, it is important to remember factor(6) which highlight eddy's deficiencies and how hard it is to surround him with players that complement him in the salary cap era.
