Do you want this fag on the team anymore?
hell no! he has had every opportunity to step up and he has not, even when his team needs him!
yes he needs a chance to blossom, in fact, lets sign him to a 20 year extention.

Never wanted Frye. I could go back and find all the posts I made before the draft about how soft he was and how he was nothing but a jumpshooter, but I wont. I also won't bring up the fact that I thought Andrew Bynum, Danny Granger and Gerald Green all had much more potential.

Frye has no cofidence this year. I remember Frye saying that he does not deserve to start.

I really thought Isiah was going to draft Bynum. I'm not too sold on Green yet but I do like Granger's game.

Do you think Bynum looks good because of his development with Kareem or do you feel he was always this talented?

I think Bynum has always had the talent, but obviously working with Kareem is going to really help. I had seen Bynum play ONCE(since I live in NJ and he went to highschool near where I live) and he was a man amongst boys scoring at will(obviously because of his size) but thats not what I was impressed with, I was impressed with his skills as a 18yr old big man. Just from watching him play you could tell he was going to get better and better and ontop of that he had a very good head on his shoulders which made it nice to know that he was dead set on getting better and better.

Even last year Bynum showed some serious glimpses of good he can be, do you remember that video with Shaq where they get double-techs after Bynum had pulled a hell of a spin move and dunked on Shaq? Man right there, was the definitive point with me on just good the guy could be. I know it was just one move but, DAMN, how many times have you seen that done on Shaq.

I agree about Green but when given the chance to play this year, he has performed pretty well, he's been working on that J and it's getting pretty damn good. Just wait until he can hit that thing with some consistency... watch out, because we all know he can take his man off the dribble.

Granger, what can I say, he's the guy I truly wanted in the draft and I fought as hard as I could on this forum to get his name out there. The guy is the total package, he's basically a veteran player already in this league by the way he carries himself on the court. He can shoot, he can take you off the dribble, he can play defense, the guy is EXACTLY what this team needed.

I think people seriously have to think about this. There were 3/4 guys that Isiah COULD have taken instead of Frye. Bynum, Granger, Green hell even Diogu. The only player who isn't playing better than Frye is Diogu and he hardly gets any burn. That draft pick could have went a LONG LONG LONG way to helping this franchise out, had they selected Bynum/Green/Granger but instead they chose Frye and the guy is exactly what I was afraid he'd be; a jumpshooting big man who is soft and afraid to go downlow. Frye right now serves no purpose on this team. Just imagine what things would look like had we had drafted Granger, I think this team looks alot different if we're lining up with Danny Granger at the 3 every night. Sigh.

Excellent post. Granger is that player we really could have use. The kid is the main reason Al Harrington was shipped out of Indiana. Granger is just that good. Granger is the real deal. There are very few players that have that natural talent that can read defensive schemes from their opponents. Offensively he is all those things you mention. If he can develop a go to move and draw fouls watchout.

Speaking of a player from Memphis Hakim Warrick is solid on the defensive end. He also has a nice post game. Hopefully he will be able to find the right team because I can't tell the direction Memphis is going in now.

Green has game but he just doesn't have the skills of Granger. Green reminds me of Travis Outlaw for the old school the next Ed O'Bannon. One night he is best player the next game he looks a guy from your local park that only dunks. He jumper is becoming deadly. I alway thought he could hit the 3 but the mindrange shot is the one I was not sure about.

I still think it's too soon to give up on Frye. I've seen enough from him to tell that he has the talent. Right now most of his problems are mental. Then you have the fact that isiah hasn't really figured out how to use him. Isiah has abandoned any offense that includes Frye. For the most part it's all Curry all the time. I don't think he has to do that to the detriment of Frye. He could easily mix in some pick and pops for Frye and Some more post ups as well. Boris Diaw is a perfect example of how a guy can look lost in the wrong offense. As soon as he got a chance to play to his strengths he was fine. I think Frye has been given the short end of the stick this year by Isiah. Frye isn't a super strong rebounder, so relegating him to that won't work. We need him to be put in the mix more. Have him get more touches so his shot is on. We know the guy can score and yet we have him now where he's not confident.

That is a big problem that Isiah has not implemented more pick and roll plays. However at the same time this is Frye's second year so their are more scouting reports on him. If he wants to be more involved Frye has to do more than just shoot jumpers. I think you made a good point with Diaw. Diaw unlike Frye can create his own shot which makes it difficult for his opponents to stop him.

As far as the mental state of Frye he started off mentally bruised. If you remember Frye said that he did not deserve to start and Lee should. Now as player it might be ok to say that to yourself but if you say it to the media and the coach hears that it could be down hill for you. He also made a comment recently about how he is not sure what to do when he is out there especially when the guys like Marbury, Curry, Lee, Jamal are on a higher level than he is.

So you are right if anything his confidence has to be restored and he also has to add more to his arsenal. I wouldn't mind a good head fake every now and then. Even Kurt Thomas had a solid head fake.

I would like to see what he can do next year before I make my complete assessment on Frye.

Good post man, I agree. I wanted Granger so bad, watching him play at New Mexico after transferring, I knew he was going to be a very good player in the NBA. I would love to get him on this team, but that aint happening now. I think he is the kind of player that Lebron needs on the Cavs to take him to the next level. Granger can play the sidekick role for another guard perfectly, kinda like Pippen did.

Granger is the player this team needed and I think Isiah made a HUUUUUUGE oversight. I was a pretty big Isiah supporter, hell even on this site, until that draft... when he took Frye over both Bynum and Granger I was done with Isiah. That ONE singular pick could have changed this franchise drastically and instead of doing some hard research Isiah went with the safe pick. The safe guy, the guy who will never suck and never make you think what a horrible selection. Frye's not as bad as he's playing, but he's also not as good as he was playing the first 2 months of last year. Just a bad selection.

I wanted Granger on draft night too. Why did he slip so far anyway? Was he a guy with injury concerns or did GMs just drop the ball. I thought he was projected top 5 at the time and when he slipped i was hoping Isiah would take him, but he had already promised that spot to Frye.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

He had a knee injury his senior year which only forced him to miss 3 games. He had a slight tear of his meniscus. This scared GM's (for what reason I don't know) because he came back very strong.

Keep Channing Frye

You don't give up on an intelligent, 6'11, college winner, with outside range, a good work ethic and a great attitude... in his sophomore season.

Besides, as David Lee is his best friend. Why break up their positive vibe?
